What kind of training did the manager on duty Sunday 10/13/2024, Roger, receive ?
It’s customary for management and staff to deescalate a situation, be professional, be respectful, and provide clarity.
Never would it ever be acceptable that, before I could even get my question out to Roger, He comes over to me and says “No! The answer is going to be no. The answer is no!”
My question was going to be if it would be possible to change the tv station so that I could watch my home team play, but unfortunately I didn’t even get my question out to him.
This is unacceptable!
There is a way to communicate that a guest’s request can’t be done, without cutting the guest off and approaching them with rudeness and venom.
After he finally let me speak, he tried to follow up and say, “you don’t know how often I get that question”. But that doesn’t matter sir. That is terrible customer service. If you are having a moment, where you are flustered in the service industry, you take a breather, you take a break. You don’t treat customers that way. It’s not hospitable and it’s not a good representation of the company.
Please train your staff on how to handle new customers and all customers, if you want them to be...
Read moreWe stood at the door for more than 5 minutes. I wasn’t sure if we were to seat ourselves or not. During that time, I saw the bartender but she never said hello, or come on in and take a seat, or someone will be with you in a minute to seat you. I grabbed silverware and menus and sat us. Then a male server came over and greeted us. We ordered fried pickles which were OK. I personally feel that since they slice their pickles thick, they should have a thicker batter. The thin batter didn’t really stay on. I ordered a chicken salad which was quite expensive at I believe $19, maybe $18. I personally like my lettuce cut a little thicker than 1/2 or 3/4 inch wide. It was good and filling though, it was just the price that really was too much. All dishes we ordered had a nice presentation. The other orders in my group were an omelette, which were fine but the corned beef hash had eggs that were burnt on the bottom side. Eggs are to be cooked low and slow. Burnt eggs change the whole flavor of the meal. The server had zero personality, no smile, no umph, he was just there going through the motions. And for whatever reason, we still gave him 20% of the ridiculously expensive 3...
Read moreI ordered the fish and chips, and if that dish is any indication of the rest of the menu, it makes perfect sense why the place was so empty during our visit. While the two large pieces of fried cod looked promising, they were completely devoid of seasoning—not even a hint of salt or pepper. The fries were even more disappointing: a shockingly small portion that looked like an afterthought to the meal. To make matters worse, they were both burnt and cold. How is that even possible?
Even more frustrating, it took almost 50 minutes for the food to come out. With barely anyone in the restaurant, there was no excuse for such a delay.
On top of that, the drink situation was baffling. No iced tea, no lemonade, not even Coke—my husband had to settle for a Sprite because that’s all they had. For a place that calls itself a neighborhood bar, the lack of basic drink options is hard to overlook.
The entire experience had me thinking this place belongs on an episode of Bar Rescue—where the kitchen learns how to season food, the bar stocks drinks, and the service learns efficiency. Sadly, I will not...
