Skillman Wok — Restaurant in Arlington

A star for service. Coworkers and family have been telling me to try this place for ten years. I finally did. The place is small, dingy and HOT and steamy.

I had the wings and they were low quality chicken fried with no seasoning whatsoever. The chicken skewers were chicken flavoured chewing gum a la Wonka factory.

You’ll need a power tool to break into the wontons. I nearly chipped my tooth. They were fried to oblivion and likely precooked, frozen then refried. I never saw what was inside.

The egg rolls were the worst! Super greasy and heavy wrapper stuffed with old peppery sauerkraut. All I tasted was vinegar and old cooking oil.

The crab rangoon was the best part as it was tasty and the only thing I was able to swallow.

Finally, the shrimp fried rice was mush and the shrimp had no flavour nor did the rice.

To their credit the enoloyees are nice and the place is always packed. I don’t know why because Everything minus the “ crab “ rangoon was absolutely disgusting.

Everything is going in the garbage.

Order mongolian beef take out, and the container was all veggies with a few slivers of beef. I immediately call back and told them that there was not beef just veggies and was called a liar, because 'they wouldn't do that' and 'every order gets the same exact amount of meat'. I told him I would bring the food back in and show him, and he told me to just order again and he would give me double the meat. I refused, stating I would not buy a second plate of food when i just wanted them to fix my order. After a long back and forth, he agreed to fix the order but forced me to choose something else, while maintaining this wasn't their fault. As he explained to me that, despite me ordering mongolian BEEF and wanting there to be beef in it, I just didn't understand what i ordered. When we brought the food back, he never said one word to us, just snatched the food from my sisters hand, almost dropping it from how forceful he was, and then after awhile brought us the replacement food and handed it to us from the side, refusing to look or speak to us. This review was for pick up so I can't say much on their delivery service. The food isn't made until you order at the counter or on the phone so they get an A+ for freshness. As for the menu options, tons of food choices and several are low calorie in comparison to the sugar bomb that is Panda Express. The price is overall very inexpensive for their large portions and most dishes come with white rice, an egg roll, a rangoon, and a fortune cookie. Wait time was low as I was only waiting around 10-15 minutes for the food to be finished by the two men on the wok and packed by the friendly young man running the register. The only two things I could really ding them for were not enough seating for those waiting (I only counted 2 chairs) in the small order out area (there is no dine-in section so please don't come here expecting to dine-in) and the tile cracks as well as baseboards need a deep cleaning.
