Got 2 rooms. 1 room for 2 nights and 1 room for another night.
Rooms were great but here’s the problem.
I went for the World Series Parade which is once in a life time for me because I’m a huge baseball fan but I’m a fan and always have been of the Yankees not the rangers and this is I feel like where the problem started.
The lady that checked me in VERY Professional unfortunately didn’t get her name. She was great! I look like a kid I’m 24 and she still treated me like an adult unlike other hotels I’ve been too, who just assume I’m a kid of someone staying there.
Man at the bar was great, really nice we didn’t talk that much but he treated me respectfully asked how my food was and if I needed anything else. Great overall.
Anyways, I wear Yankees gear everyday so I obviously was wearing gear there day 1 of my stay. Of course I already knew people were going to stare. Yankees fans don’t really have a good rep but I wasn’t there to fight or start arguments or talk anything but rangers and baseball. I was there for one thing BASEBALL! The players! They worked hard, it’s a celebration!
There was another lady there blonde hair if I remember correctly. maybe 40 I don’t know but I guess she just had a natural attitude it was iffy with her so I couldn’t really tell with her. So I guess she was okay the reason it’s confusing because she was “nice” but then some things she would say with a tone so I couldn’t tell if she was annoyed or if that was just natural attitude.
The guy in the suit at the front desk (who I assume was the manager I wouldn’t know because he never introduced himself) was talking to everyone.
A family walked up to the lady at the desk to check out the day of the parade, he automatically asked how their stay was and started a conversation, he was walking the lobby talking to people greeting BUT when I walked up to the lady and clearly said I was there to check out and check back in since I was a stay over he was right there looked at me and just walked away.
What, no introduction cause I’m a Yankee fan? No friendly joke “aw come on why the Yankees” “Not the Yankees” could’ve said something, anything but got a stare and nothing! He just walked away.
He didn’t have a problem talking to my brother in law who is a ranger fan but even my nephew made a comment because he’s a Yankee too wore a hat and he was like what’s that guys problem he stared at me walking out.
He probably thought my brother in law was my dad or my “guardian” like everyone else assumes. But I guess he just let his personal feelings get in the way of his professionalism.
I got the 2 rooms for the ranger fans I was with so we could all have a good time. unfortunately some of us didn’t.
They have security cameras if they check back not once was I ever rude or caused issues or gave attitude. I know how some guest can be but this was definitely uncalled for and all 4 of us Yankees were singled out.
If you’re a ranger fan you’re welcome here, if you’re anything else especially a Yankee I wouldn’t stay here because it’ll be known you’re not. Sad because EVERYONE should be welcome and feel welcome! Shouldn’t matter what team or...
Read moreI have been to high end and low and motels. I was at the courtyard Marriott for business. There was a training seminar that was being held there which is why me and my coworker booked our hotel stay there just for the convenience and paid over $300 a night for each room. So I expected a lot from this place being so expensive. First of all when I got there, greeted by the front desk person who didn't have a lot of knowledge, seemed relatively new and I couldn't understand what he was really saying because he kept mumbling and then right away I noticed what had to be his manager standing by him, an older Caucasian lady with a bob style haircut. She seemed very unfriendly and unhappy didn't even smile, or ask how I was doing. Nobody asked why I was there if they would have it would have been nice for them to let me know where this training was going to be held. The only elevator was at the very back of the hotel, quite a walk and then they put is on different floors. I will say the only part of the stay that was ok was the room, it was clean and the bed was pretty comfortable. There was no kind of Continental breakfast of any kind. They had a Starbucks barista so if you wanted decent coffee you had to spend $6 and if you wanted any type of food you could purchase some kind of muffin. Then they had a mini store next to the front desk, a bottle of water $7, bag of small chips $6, candy bar $6, and if you wanted a frozen hot pocket or something similar $13. There was no kind of customer service vibe at this hotel! All the other people I encountered working there were clones of the manager. The last day we were there I checked out and she was there again. No smile no thank you for staying here no how was your stay. Being from out of town I will never come to this hotel for anything even if there was an event in the area. The big hotel manager was in his office every time I passed by and it's unfortunate that they do business this way. Even our trainer said she was unhappy with the booking of this hotel for the seminar. Only giving a two start because...
Read moreI booked a 1-night stay using a my Explore Program Authorization form for a university trip for my daughter, that was taking place the following day, Saturday, 28 October. I drove up from San Antonio, arriving later than anticipated due to traffic. Upon arrival, I provided my method of payment, ID, and form to the desk agent - Theodora - who worked on the computer for a few moments, then called a male agent over, I'm assuming he was a manager. In short, the individual told me that my room rate is be that's the going rate and I have an incorrect code on my form. I explained, I have used the exact same code at that exact same location in May with no issue. I began to attempt to contact the associate with whom I'm related to to inform him of the concern, when the individual says that he could "give" me the room for $300+ or he'll cancel my reservation. I informed him that I'm not from the area & have nowhere else to go with my daughter. He also said that the fact that I was able to use the code previously wasn't his concern. I was attempting to see if I could get my contact on the phone to try to clear things up, when the individual stated that it doesn't matter if I get him on the phone or if a new form is drafted because they already saw the one I presented, and that he would be canceling my reservation regardless and that "maybe" I could find somewhere else to stay. This was extremely rude, disrespectful & insensitive. He immediately canceled my reservation. I found another hotel from a different chain with a more affordable, but expensive rate in Hurst. This experience is absolutely unacceptable. I learned the Rangers were in the Worid Series and that night was game 1. Hotels are in the Business of making money, not truly serving people and this was made very obvious through this unfortunate experience. This hotel didn't provide any special amenities, I selected it for the proximity to the university & my previous experience at this location....
