Let me start by saying this restaurant was beautiful the food was amazing our services was fantastic so I will give this place a 5 star rating still.. this was our first time eating at the restaurant. Only thing that really bothered me was the parking area.. I was traveling from out of town and managed to park in the back of the restaurant and noticed this one spot people just kept on passing it and some area had cones to block off parking for what reasons I don’t know… so with me circling the parking area for a few mins cause I really didn’t want to park in that area I just told myself park there only because I was in a big truck I felt it was going to be a hassle to get out but I went and park there anyways not knowing there was some sort or nail sticking out of the side of the concrete block that stops you from tumbling over to the grass. Sliced my tires and got a flat right there! So In the process of trying to fix my tire and trying to make it to my reservation after talking to the manager of the restaurant he did not help me in such ways but did offer me 2 free appetizers and to call corporate about the situation... lucky the security man that was watching the parking lot helped me on getting my tire fixed.. with me being a women I wouldnt know what to do… I’m in a whole different state!!!! I thought the restaurant manager handle that very wrongly.. speaking for anyone I feel that he could of done better now I’m out of almost 300 dollar off of one tire mind you im in a big truck due to not properly caring for the outside property..

I came to dine here with my family for my birthday, but it was not a good experience, mainly due to the food. As we were seated to a table, I noticed it would be a cramped experience, it felt like the size of the menus, and later our plates, allowed for very little room on our small table. When they handed us a complimentary breadstick, some of us had to keep holding up our menus to fit the breadstick on the table. I ordered the Mississippi Catfish Opelousas, a dish that contains a blackened catfish, which was cooked perfectly, however the texture of the fish was ruined, because it was served in an an absolutely excessive amount of the lemon garlic butter sauce, a sauce that I assumed would be on the lighter side, but due to the sheer quantity of sauce, it didn't turn out as light as it was described. The sauce didn't just ruin the texture of the fish, it also completely overpowered the texture and flavor of the lump crab and oysters that my dish also came with. Had I known that the large amount of sauce would compromise the majority of the dish, I would have ordered the sauce on the side from the start. Also, though the sauce tasted slightly too salty, it was nothing compared to how overly salted the dirty rice was; I took one bite of the salty dirty rice and I just couldn't bring myself to take another bite from there. In conclusion, the Mississippi Catfish Opelousas, a $40 entrée, was overpriced for its poor execution, especially with how excessively salty the dirty rice was, and how the heavier-than-expected over applied sauce ruined the texture and flavor of all the proteins. Unfortunately, the rest of my family members also had similar problems with their dishes, I. E. everyone thought their dish had too much salt and sauce. Our server was polite but, I feel like there was some sort of mix up, because somehow my birthday Pecan Pie a la Mode took 20 mins to arrive; I had the impression that they had forgotten about it. Overall, it was a memorable experience, but not for the right reasons.

The food was fantastic! Rave! Rave! Rave! Oysters on the half shell, gumbo, catfish, crayfish, house salad! Well, I guess it could have been deemed great service if you wanted everything out at the same time!?!? The first thing we asked for, some bread and butter, came out after everything else was already on the table. The only timely item was dessert, creme brulee. The server tried, Julian was really nice but he made a mistake with the oysters, we ordered half, he brought a dozen. We informed him of the mistake the next time he came to the table, but forgot and had to correct our ticket after he had already presented it for payment. Julian also failed to time everything appropriately, who wants their hot food to get cold while you're eating your appetizers and salads? Our table was so full. It was a party! Instead of a leisurely lunch with my wife and mother-in-law. Maybe we have to ask for certain items to be served at certain times? Or am I making a mountain out of a mole hill??? One last mention, I don't think a guest should have to worry about all the spiders along the rails and path from the back lot. The restaurant is a beautiful space, the dining room and bar looked and smelled clean. The men's restroom needed some attention. At first we thought staffing may have been an issue as we waited behind another couple a few minutes before anyone come to the hostess stand. But nope, there was enough staff, a few standing and talking among themselves by the restrooms. We really enjoy the great food, it's been a very long time since we've eaten here. Miss the sweet potato pecan pie! Maybe next time...

PLEASE CONSIDER IF YOU HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE!!! Should’ve read some recent reviews before going… Anyhow, it’s been over 1 year since we last dined here and we loved their seafood collection so we decided to go. We reserved a time and was greeted to the bar table. Atmosphere was great. Until we opened the menu. The price has drastically gone up, but we understand in this economy everything has gone up, and we don’t mind paying for good food and good service. Server was nice. We placed our orders with her. We sat there and waited for her to bring out the bread and butter as we normally got like before. It never came out. We thought to ourselves wow they even cut the free bread. Then we asked her if they still offer bread and butter like before that she kindly brought out some. Now we need to ask for bread, if not they not gonna bring out. We ordered crispy gator, Rainbow trout & shrimp, and Mississippi catfish opelousas. Gator tasted delicious. But the rest of the dishes were extremely SALTY, to the point where we felt like we were munching on salt. We didn’t want to cause trouble on a Friday night, so we just tried to scrape out all the seasonings/sauce coated on the fishes and tried to swallow, still too much salty. We had to gulp down lots of water and continued to drink glasses after glasses of water when we got home. The bill of $100+ for 1 lb of salt was not worth it at all. My husband’s blood pressure number was as high as the menu price! We decided that would be our last time with Pappadeaux.

Update: The restaurant did refund me for my wife’s seafood. That is great customer service and fair business. Increase on the service rating. I recently dined at Pappadeaux in Arlington, Texas and unfortunately, my experience was not so great. The swordfish I ordered was half cooked and I had to send it back. Even after doing so, they still charged me for it, which was quite disappointing. Although the steak was on the smaller side compared to what was advertised, I must commend our server, Devin, for doing a great job. He provided excellent service throughout the meal. On a positive note, the loaded baked potato was delicious and the bacon had a sweet taste that added a nice touch. The crab cakes were also a standout, as they were flavorful and well-prepared. The cheesecake, while enjoyable, was quite basic and didn't offer anything unique or special. However, the banana pudding had a terrible texture and I would suggest that they stop selling it altogether. Another disappointment was the drink with alcohol, which was essentially 80% ice. It felt like a straight rip-off considering the price paid. Thankfully, the other two drinks I had were much better and actually contained a decent amount of beverage. Overall, my experience at Pappadeaux was far from satisfactory. I didn't feel good about spending my money there, especially since the manager didn't take proper care of me when I brought out the undercooked fish. It's not a good representation of good business practices.

The bartender was very friendly. This location is right off of a busy road and was easy to find. Parking lot was wide open. Because of the Covid pandemic, everyone is required to walk in with a mask. Sat at the bar. Be gentle man a.k.a. bartender, is very nice very friendly immediately got us waters and the menus. He gave us a few minutes to look at the menu before we were ready to place our orders and he went and got us butter and bread. The bread is toasted so perfectly and so soft but crunchy, so good.We were getting ready to head to the airport so we asked him for menu suggestions and he suggested the seafood gumbo with the salad. The gumbo had shrimp, oysters, and chicken and I think it also has some kind of crab or lobster meat in it I’m not quite sure. The salad was really big we easily could have split it in half. By the time I was done eating a salad I was feeling full. The gumbo was just OK. Next time I think I will leave out the oysters. I had to add hot sauce to mine. Nothing too outstanding about the seafood gumbo in my opinion it does have a lot inside and the bowl is pretty big. We paid about 32 bucks I think each of our meals were 12 or 13 bucks each. Next time I think I’m going to try the gator. Turnaround time was about 40 minutes from ordering to Paying. So you can easily come get a quick bite to eat. Definitely affordable.
