We went to Hurricane Harbor today, and service was very unprofessional. When entering the parking lot, we asked the associate a question, and all he did was point which did not answer the question. After asking a couple of times, we asked if he was able to speak, and he replied yes, and he just continued to point. Then, at the entrance gate, the associate was joking around, and we found out later when we went to get food that he didn't scan all of our passes into the park. When we tried to order a meal from one of the food places, the associate there had no customer service skills. When we ordered the meal, he said he could not make changes to the food to tell them at the pick-up location. We have the dining plans on all our passes. He kept telling us that all he could do was to give us a discount, not the meal plan meal. We had to ask him a couple of times to get a supervisor over to help. We finally got a supervisor, but she was not able to get it either. She asked us to go with her to guest services so she could verify that we had the meal plan. Guest service is where we found out that the pass was not scanned into the park. They for that fixed and said that the meal plan will work now so we can oder lunch. We had to wait in line again to order lunch. You would have expected the supervisor to say sorry for the problem and not make us get at the end of the line that we had already been in once. But she didn't. We finally got that order placed and went to the pickup location. The young lady there had great customer service skills. She listened to what we needed and made sure we were taken care of. She did an awesome job and needs to be a trainer and teach the other employees. The park now treats a glass of water as a refill and the same as they do with a soft drink, so even when getting water, you have to wait their waiting period to get more water. That can cause health problems when this summer it reaches temperatures of over a hundred degrees. We stood in a long line at another food location to get meals for the others in my group. Once I finally made it to the cashier and placed my order, I was told that they were not serving the food item today. That item was the only meal item at that location. There were no signs or anything stating that they would not be serving food, so I then had to go to another place to stand in that line to get food. This caused me to lose more time with my family and less time to try to enjoy the park. There is also no consistency in the enforcement of the rules. Rules seem to apply to some people and not to others. One some of the ride with a weight requirement some people are allowed to ride while others are not. One person in my party was 4lbs over the limit (which could have been the water in their clothes) and they were not allowed to ride while another guest that was more then 30lbs over was allowed to ride. Also if the weight restrictions are going to be that close and enforced then the scales need to be at the beginning of the line not at the top of the slides after you have already waited in line for over an hour and hauled a raft up several flights of stairs. There was no place to know how the scales read other than the top of the slides. At Six Flags, if size matters, there is a seat that you can try before getting in line. Also, there were signs posted on some drink stations showing that they had fruit punch (red) power ade but after standing in line, we were told they don't have the power ade. The signs at the food and drink locations need to be accurate to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to leave a review for people that donāt live in the area I couldnāt find an accurate review bc it was either 5 star or 1 star. First I want to say as far as price the tickets themselves are cheaper if you purchase online so you def can save money there we went on a Saturday and paid 40$ online but they also charge almost the same price as the ticket just for parking so I was kind of confused about that it was 35$ parking or you can park in the priority parking for 50$ either way try to get there early we went in 2 groups one got there before us & found parking right in the front we went later in the day so we had to park pretty far out & walk a good min to get to the park making me realize if the entire parking lot was full they probably have a huge crowd and they did second the park itself was described as being very large and having the most slides out of the other water parks in the area and while this may be true it didnāt actually feel that way it was more so everything was spaced out but I was a little underwhelmed with the bigger slides I have been to parks where you can ride in a group and the slides are pretty big but the bigger ones they had were only for 2 people (other than 1 which had a line so long I decided to not ride) but the ride wait times were a bit long for how short the ride itself was there were several slides but they were all pretty short I am not saying you canāt have a good time you def can we rode some smaller slides that were pretty fun with how fast you came out but just wanted to point out that some other water parks in the area might have less slides but they might be funner the wave pool was not very exciting it was packed and the waves were hardly moving the lazy river was the first lazy river I had ever seen were you had to rent a tube to ride on it which I thought was odd another thing is they do have is gold pass option for people who purchase a membership which I also was thrown off by because the park isnāt that large to have what felt like a (fast pass) it was odd we were in line on one of the bigger rides but people kept coming in front of us so we waited awhile it also felt that we waited awhile because they had only a certain amount of tubes on the slide we were waiting for so we would have to wait for everyone to get off and hand them over I never rent lockers either really and I left my personal belongings on a chair but my husband left his shoes in the section you leave them to ride a ride and when we get off they had stolen them so we had to buy a pair at their gift shop & the cashier said it happened all the time & they werenāt even nice just some old sandals so I was suggest leaving them under a chair & maybe wearing water shoes so not sure how that happened the food options seemed pretty good they had a big variety I didnāt eat there but they had some good looking drink options we also couldnāt rent a cabana because they were sold out but they were very expensive so I was surprised from 200-500 ! I didnāt think it was worth it there was construction so I did see that but I donāt think that bothered me since I didnāt know what was there before ! So there is the review you might feel underwhelmed but you can still have fun but I wouldnāt say it exceeded my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāve been a season pass holder at Hurricane Harbor for nearly two decades, and Iāve been bringing my kids here since they were old enough to swim. What used to be a fun, laid-back summer tradition has turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience, and after yesterday, Iām officially doneāeven though I already have a season pass.
Over the last few years, Iāve seen a drastic decline in the guest experience, but this year takes the cake. So many rides are either closed, blocked off, or fenced off entirely. The lazy riverāonce a fun way to relax or move around the parkānow has guarded entrance and exit points, making it feel more like a prison channel than a family-friendly ride. The spontaneous, carefree atmosphere is completely gone.
It seems like the only updates being made are to the rulesānot the rides. The same old attractions are still standing, but now with layers of restrictions and red tape. My kids, who have ridden Seawolf for years without any issues, are now required to wear Coast Guard-approved PFDs because theyāre under 52", even if I ride with them. Height is a poor way to determine if someone can swim or not.
Thereās also a seemingly arbitrary 250 lb per-person weight limit on many rides, as well as total raft weight limits. Iām a firefighter and I work out regularly, but I sit right on the edge of that threshold. Whether I get to ride or not depends on if Iāve just eaten, used the bathroom, or how wet my swimsuit is. Some rides I passed, others I didnātāabout a 50/50 split. And when I didnāt pass, I had to walk back through the line in front of everyone. It was humiliating. Getting shamed once is bad enough, but knowing you might face it again every time you want to ride makes it hard to enjoy anything.
To add insult to injury, Iām somehow ātoo bigā for adult ridesābut not too big for any of the kiddie rides. I rode all of them without anyone saying anything. Thatās just absurd.
On top of that, every single ride requires you to remove your shoes, hat, and sunglassesāeven when your feet donāt touch the water. Thereās only one attendant per ride, which makes things painfully slow. First they have to launch the group in front of you, then weigh each person individually, weigh the group together, and finally load the raftāthen wait for the attendant to manually push you down. This slow, tedious process means the lines crawl.
As for the park itself? The Black Holeāone of the most iconic ridesāis gone. Just a fenced-off pile of dirt now. The entire other side of the park, where the new kids' area is being built, is still just a construction zone. Itās clear theyāre nowhere near finished, which makes you wonder if the park forgot that theyāre only open for a few months each year.
Despite all of thisāclosed rides, slow operations, increased restrictions, and active construction zonesāthe ticket prices are higher than ever.
Itās incredibly disappointing to see a place that once brought so much joy become this disorganized, rule-heavy, and restrictive. This used to be a family favorite, but now it feels more like a frustrating obstacle course. Iām done wasting my time...
