We have visited the Keg Steakhouse + Bar in Arlington a few times before. None of them have ever stood out as being fantastic or bad. When my friend decided that for her birthday dinner, she'd like to give it another shot, I said sure and made us a reservation. Last night's dinner was the worst experience we have by far had in any (what I would consider) higher-end establishment.
After being sat, it took about 10 minutes to be greeted by our server, De'Anthony - we should have known from there it would all be downhill. The birthday girl ordered wine and my husband and I stuck with water - which was refilled only once after sitting with empty cups for the majority of the evening. After placing our orders, the birthday girl's meal came out incorrectly. The food runners just dropped it off and ran away. De'Anthony didn't come and check on us and I'm not sure he would have if I wouldn't have had to go out of my way to make eye contact with him. About 30 minutes later he finally stopped by our table for us to notify him that one of the entrees was incorrect. After double-checking his notes, I suppose he realized he did in fact make a mistake... Another 30 minutes go by for the birthday girl to FINALLY receive her correct food. I also had to point out that she needed more wine, as her glass had been empty for most of the evening. At this point, we are ready to go and salvage what's left of the evening. De'Anthony took another 20 minutes to box up our food, another 15 to bring us her birthday dessert, and then finally dropped the check - to our surprise, after mentioning he was comping the meal (since she didn't eat more than two bites) the only items comped on the check were her second glass of wine ($9 value) and her birthday dessert that we didn't even order (another $9) value.
For a higher-end establishment, this was a complete waste of money and time. Management and staffing should be better trained or maybe this place should lower the prices to match...
Read moreI did not have a good experience here. They dropped the ball on my mother-in-law’s birthday. Had reservations for a few weeks now and had to wait over 15 minutes to get seated (we were just a party of 5). After being seated, we waited 20 minutes to get water (just water) and had to get the manager’s attention multiple times to just get refills on waters. When we got bread they didn’t provide plates so we had to ask for them. To salvage the evening, we ordered apps at the same time as entrees because we were concerned we wouldn’t see the waitress enough to order again. Despite the 40 min wait to get the main courses and apps they didn’t even bring the right food and two of the steaks were not cooked right as requested. We never got one of our shareble sides and asked for their removal on the ticket. The steaks were bland, sides were undercooked, and they even gave the wrong dressing for the salads. The waitress assigned to our table even gave an attitude she “didn’t control what was going on in the kitchen”. We ended up pulling another manager aside in which she finally assigned us to a different waiter who was much better but still had to ask for ever single thing (i.e., the check, to go boxes, and refills). After a 2 hour extremely disappointing dinner service we were ready to get out of there and will never return. There aren’t enough “I’m sorry” or comps (bill was still over $150 for 3 people) in the world to every warrant my family and I returning to that establishment.
Side note: the atmosphere at the Keg is trash. There were several rowdy large parties of teenager that were constantly walking back and forth throughout the restraurant. They were loud and disruptive and were simply in the way so the wait staff had to walk around them. Not what you would expect for a place that is listed as...
Read moreParis 7th is now our favorite high end restraunt . The food and servers are a lot top quality and you can go reservation only .
About the keg though We love the food and it was our favorite restaurant however I had to bring down the star rating due to our waitress being disrespectful. Her name was Janelle . It was our anniversary dinner and at first it was nice and going smooth but then she took forever .She offered to box up our food which was nice and then the bread she said she would bring a new loaf and box up what we had left and she never did !!! We asked for dissert to go several times and then she came back and argued saying we never said it was to go when we clearly said it more than once . We asked for carmal sauce and then she came back and asked why we were still here . We told her we were waiting on our carmal sauce she was supposed to get 15 minutes ago . She seemed to have taken too many tables on for tips but left us sitting there for hours . It disabled her form giving us 5 star service that we paid for .we were left there for hours when we had things we had to do !!! Not only that she charged someone else’s table to our ticket !!! We had to ask her to take it off bc we were not paying for someone else’s table. We usually tip $100 and was going to give her $40 but we had to reduce it to $20 bc she honestly didn’t diserve a tip with the way we were treated .then we get our statement and found out she changed the tip and forged my husbands signature which is illegal and we’ll be pressing charges ! she is lucky she got anything at all . I don’t feel bad for her bc she was arrogant . We paid $250 for 2 star service...
