While I we need to adjust our expectations in this new era of C-19, I was rather disappointed in the Pizza itself. While the dough & crust was well baked & good on it's own, the tomato paste not my style, & the cheese was really too sparse. Paying anywhere from $12-19 for a personal sized Pizza, some would expect more. It was mostly dough & sauce, I did throw out about 1/3 of the remaining dough...too many Carbo's for me. I did not see any condiments/spices to help it along.
The young fellow who worked there was pleasant enough. They are observing C-19 precautions as far as I could tell & the shop is quite clean.
The owner really cares about the business & did make a helpful response to this review. Apparently, it seems like quite a few people do like this more "simple" basic style of Pizza.
There is no doubt that he uses quality ingredients. They do let the dough proof for a while & that is evident in the cooked product.
The outside dining area was vacant & due to the wind, the standing Umbrella fell & almost clocked me on the head. So I had to sit in the hot sun which was not too pleasant either...so I guess take out is...

Palo Mesa Wood Fired Pizza is an INCREDIBLE place to eat! I am so glad we Finally stopped to check it out. It is much bigger inside than it looks from the outside. The decor is beautiful, natural accents, comfortable seating, and airy. AMBER, the gal that greeted us and made our pizza, was so informative, knowledgeable, and had such an amazing attitude she made it really fun. She answered all our many questions and made GREAT suggestions on what to try. Thank you Amber. OK... now the Pizza: WOW! AMAZING GOURMET PIZZA. Combinations I never would have thought of, in a size just right - this location only makes one size pie, the crust cooked to perfection, crispy and light. With bottled beverages and a few starters to choose from, it was the perfect spot for an incredible relaxing dinner with my husband. This is pizza all grown up. Michael has an amazing find here in the Arroyo Grande Village. A wood fired authentic Italian pizza. Delicious in everyway. We along with our serious foodie friends who've traveled in Italy said thus was the best pizza they ever had! Margarita pizza out of this world this is live food as Michael said. Dough sets for hours like 72 super quality ingredients 900 degree wood oven. You have to try to believe. Award winning small cute place served in the box fresh salads to live for and some beautiful deserts, beverages including wine available sit on picnic tables or inside don't miss it in fact I'd drive 8+ hours from Phoenix and yes I did to eat this Holy grail of pizza who would've thought...
