I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at Anjappar! The food was nothing short of exceptional—each dish was bursting with rich, authentic flavors and perfectly balanced spices. The food was especially outstanding, with tender textures and a depth of flavor that truly delicious. Every bite reflected the care they put in the kitchen, every thing tasted fresh. Another point that is important to me is the an establishment is clean, and they did not disappoint, everything was spotless and the plates and utensils REALLY clean, which I really appreciate. There has been restaurants I like where I have to ask for a new set because they aren’t clean enough. Beyond the incredible food, the service was top-notch. The staff was attentive, friendly, and eager to ensure we had a great experience. They offered excellent recommendations and made sure we felt welcome from start to finish. We even got complementary dessert! Thank you Sumanth for being so nice and friendly! He make sure to explain dishes to us and letting us know they had a high level of spice. If you’re looking for an authentic and delicious Indian meal with outstanding customer service, look no further! I can’t wait to return and try more dishes. Highly recommend

My first experience with Anjappar was in India with their unlimited non veg meals and always wanted to give this place a try at Artesia. Service: The service to start with has a weird vibe. Some are polite and formal, some in a rush and casual and some bordering rudeness. Menu: The menu doesn’t have prices in them for dishes - the dishes are not super expensive but yes above average for the quality, quantity and service provided in the place. Food: The spice levels are high. The peppers overwhelm some taste of the food, but overall ok. The food is not customizable - you cannot get masala on side for masala dosa or make the manchurians mild or have kothu parotta with less korma or mild spice and so on. That is odd compared to any other south Indian restaurant in the area. The combination of the above makes the restaurant to be inflexible to the customers which is both strength and weakness of the place as it attracts a certain kind of crowd. I may not visit this place again because I love to have many changes to my south Indian foods and a couple of the neighboring chettinadu restaurants cater to my whims better and the much needed satisfaction which I did not receive here.

I had the opportunity to dine at Anjappar recently and I’d like to share my thoughts about the experience. I ordered a variety of dishes including mutton bone soup, goat chukka varuval, goat biryani, and natukozhli biryani. Let me start with the positives – the mutton bone soup was a delightful beginning to the meal. Its rich, hearty flavor instantly warmed me up. The goat chukka varuval was a burst of flavors and spices that truly delighted my taste buds. Equally impressive was the goat biryani, with tender meat and flavor. However, the natukozhli biryani was a bit of a letdown. It seemed like a departure from the other wonderful dishes I had. The rice was some veg biryani rice and the fried chicken pieces seemed to dominate, but the true essence of a biryani was missing. Overall, my experience at Anjappar was a mix of highs and lows. While the natukozhli biryani didn’t meet expectations, the mutton bone soup, goat chukka varuval, and goat biryani more than made up for it. I believe there’s potential for an even better dining experience if the restaurant refines their offerings. It’s a place worth revisiting for those standout dishes that make every meal special.

As a lover of Indian cuisine, I recently had the pleasure of dining at Anjappar Chettinad Indian Restaurant, and I must say that it was an absolute delight for my taste buds. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting ambiance that set the stage for a memorable dining experience.

First and foremost, the menu at Anjappar Chettinad is a true representation of the diverse and authentic flavors of Chettinad cuisine. It offers a wide range of dishes, from traditional classics to regional specialties, providing an opportunity to explore the rich culinary heritage of South India.

To start my culinary journey, I ordered the Chicken Chettinadu, a dish that epitomizes the bold and aromatic flavors of the region. The succulent chicken, marinated in a blend of freshly ground spices and cooked to perfection, was a revelation to my taste buds. The rich gravy infused with coconut, curry leaves, and a hint of tanginess was the perfect complement to the tender meat. It was a true symphony of flavors that left me craving for more.

Next, I had the pleasure of savoring the famous Mutton Biryani, a dish that requires skill and finesse to master. Anjappar Chettinad exceeded my expectations with their version of this classic rice preparation. The fragrant basmati rice was perfectly cooked and infused with aromatic spices. The tender mutton pieces, succulent and bursting with flavor, were a delight to dig into. The biryani was accompanied by a flavorful raita that added a refreshing touch to the overall experience.

Moving on to the vegetarian section, I couldn't resist trying the Paneer Butter Masala. The creamy tomato-based gravy enveloped the tender paneer cubes, resulting in a luscious and indulgent dish. The balance of spices was spot on, creating a harmony of flavors that showcased the expertise of the chefs at Anjappar Chettinad.

The attentive and friendly staff and a special mention to VIijay added to the overall dining experience. They were well-versed in the menu and offered helpful suggestions, ensuring that every guest's preferences were catered to. The service was prompt and efficient, allowing me to fully enjoy the flavors without any interruptions.

To conclude this culinary journey, I indulged in the traditional dessert, Gulab Jamun. The soft, golden-brown dumplings soaked in sweet syrup melted in my mouth, providing the perfect sweet note to end the meal. Anjappar Chettinad Indian Restaurant truly delivers an exceptional dining experience. From the moment you step inside, you are transported to the vibrant and flavorful world of Chettinad cuisine. The authentic flavors, impeccable service, and inviting ambiance make it a must-visit destination for any lover of Indian food.

I highly recommend Anjappar Chettinad Indian Restaurant to anyone seeking an unforgettable culinary adventure. Prepare to be delighted by the authenticity, quality, and richness of flavors that this restaurant...

I recently dined at Anjappar in Long Beach, CA, and my overall experience was quite enjoyable, deserving a strong 4-star rating.

The culinary journey began with Chicken 65 and Nethili Fry. Both dishes were outstanding, with the Chicken 65 offering a perfect blend of spices and a delightful crunch. The Nethili Fry was equally impressive, cooked to perfection and flavored just right to accentuate the fish without overpowering it.

The soup we ordered was another highlight. It was rich in flavor, with a depth that indicated quality ingredients and a skilled hand in the kitchen. It was a comforting start and set high expectations for the rest of the meal.

We also tried two types of biryani. The mutton biryani, was a flavor-packed dish, with the rice perfectly cooked and the spices masterfully balanced, providing a genuine taste of South Indian cuisine. The quantity was generous, making it a satisfying choice.

However, the plain biryani was a bit of a letdown. It reminded me more of a tomato rice rather than a traditional biryani. While it was certainly edible, it lacked the complexity and layers of flavor one would expect from a biryani. This dish didn’t quite live up to the high standards set by the other items we ordered.

Despite this minor disappointment, the overall quality of the food was high, and the portions were more than satisfactory. The service was efficient and the staff was courteous, adding to the pleasant dining experience.

In summary, Anjappar in Long Beach offers a delightful taste of authentic South Indian cuisine, with most dishes hitting the mark in terms of flavor and quality. The slight miss on the plain biryani is the only reason I’m holding back that one star. I would still recommend this restaurant to anyone craving genuine South Indian flavors and look forward to my next visit, perhaps exploring other dishes on their...
