Located in Little India (Artesia, CA), L.A. Brisket had been a brief yet gratifying experience. The food was delightful and the service was on point. I ordered the "loaded fries" with pull pork which had mushrooms, coleslaw, Parmesan cheese, and of course, the pull pork. I also ordered the Elote. The loaded fries were fresh, tasty, and the pull pork was amazing. The pull pork was juicy and full flavor. I can taste the smokiness - just delicious. I also dipped my fries and pork with their barbecue sauce and that was pretty awesome, too. It was savory, tangy, and I ended uptaking a few of those home. The Elote did not meet the standards of what I am typically used to probably because it was off the cob and the ingredients were there however, I just did not like the way it tasted. I prefer a more traditional-tasting Elote. I do not think it was worth $4. My partner, on the other-hand, had a brisket sandwich. I can't tell what was in in the sandwich except that there had been some brisket but the bread is a baguette and whatever condiment placed on the bread reminded me of your Vietnamese Banh Mi. It was a great combination. I loved it. One of the employees (could be be the owner, I don't know), Abraham, he is pretty cool. He is lovely to speak with, customer-service is pretty amazing as well, and just went above and beyond to make my experience a pleasant one. The guy deserves a promotion or a raise. Overall, L.A. Brisket is going to be a new place my partner and I will...
Read moreGreat way to beat the lunch rush is the get up early and get there around opening time. Of course this was just our usual food crawl before running errands. We split a 405 sandwich and gf was like found our new bbq sandwich place if we ever craving it! I'm always down for delicious food without a crowd. We were literally one of two tables eating here at noon on a sunday lol. You just go in, order and pay at the front and take a seat and they bring the food to you, simple as that.
The brisket in the sandwich was so tender and juicy dripping out of the bun juice levels of flavor! I don't recall too much of the truffle fries but we left a few on the plat so it wasn't part of the clean plate club.
Atmosphere was that of many bbq joints with slabbed wooden tables and benches/metal chairs. It fits a certain genre of american bbq joints and not a pub style with tv and loud music which sometimes can take away from the enjoyment of the food...
Read moreLA Brisket is a refreshing change from the Asian-predominant cuisine in the Cerritos/Artesia area. This is a counter-service restaurant but with ample seating inside. It's location is a little odd (a non-descript, tired-looking plaza in Little India) and it's decor reminds me more of Brooklyn than LA. All that aside, the food was great and definitely hit the spot. I had the 101 sandwich and elote. The garlic aioli on the sandwich was the seller for me; the brisket was tender and flavorful, but there were a few large chunks of fat that I had to spit out. The elote was a nice side but nothing mind-blowing. Prices may seem a little high but to me it's fair for a specialty sandwich and for how much meat you get. As a person who has had trouble finding a place to satisfy my sandwich cravings since moving back from NYC a few years ago, I'm glad to discover this place in my neighborhood and will definitely be...
