The Mighty Colorado Burger — Restaurant in Arvada

Decent burger, nothing special. My issue is mainly with the dishonest pricing.

I tried to order a bacon burger online where it's listed as $12. I hit the order online button, but it seemed to be broken. Nothing would load on the website. So I drove up there to order in person. The bacon burger is listed as $14 at the window. That's fine, prices have been going up in restaurants everywhere. I figured they just haven't updated their website, so I order and don't worry too much about it. I ask if he could put it in a box for me so I could take it back home.

I give him my card and he hands me the iPad to select a tip option. The lowest option is 18% and I didn't see (maybe I missed it) an option for manual tip. So I hit 18%, I'm sure they work hard and restaurants are suffering these days.

I look at my receipt and there's a $1.50 charge for "Togo fee". I've never heard of this in my life. $1.50 for a cardboard box. This isn't printed anywhere and he didn't mention it when I asked for it togo. I would have happily just wrapped it up in wax paper and took it down the road to my house.

So I thought I was buying a $12 burger as listed on their website and hoping to pay through the website as well, but when I show up the burger was $20.

Just advertise honestly! It's crazy to put on your website that a burger is $12 and you end up coming $20 out of pocket. Almost double. Make the fees included with the burger, or make it clear, and fix your incorrect prices on your official website. So disappointing it. I know restaurants are struggling but I don't think misleading customers and hiding true costs is a good business model.

If the bacon burger was listed at $18 and I could order online, I probably will still have gotten it and left happy, but I felt so crappy about the whole bait and switch experience. I feel taken...

Came here because I saw they were going to be at the Denver Burger Battle. My visit was disappointing. I was greated by "Wad up wit it." The burger was dry and overcooked. No juices or anything. I ordered the bacon burger that didn't come with bacon. I went back to get the bacon and noticed it's in a large tub above the grill. So it was cold and dried out. The fries came out cold but I do like the style of these fries. They are some of my favorite. So it was a bummer they were cold.

The wife didn't like her burger and at the end she found a long hair in the crispy onion rings. The patty was also a dry and fully cooked patty. Her tots were hot though. She mainly just like the tots and also was sad it was a dry patty and had hair cooked in it.

We also ordered the cheese curds which were also pretty good but lukewarm. I'm guessing they had order ready way before they called it since the food was cold or a lot of stuff is pre-made in advance like the bacon. Didn't get a good look inside. Patties also didn't look like they were made in house but I could be wrong.

Overall, I was disappointed to drive 45 minutes for mediocre burgers with hair in the food. Considering their are other reviews with hair in it, I think they are going to need to up that game to compete in August. Dry overcooked patties with hair aren't going to cut it. Won't...

Both the Colorado burger and Brewhouse were awesome experiences. Easy to find a seat, order food and simply fit into the welcoming atmosphere. It was a people and dog friendly environment. Ash was friendly and helpful to this out-of-towner. He did a great job of recommending beverages and providing atmospheric hospitality.

For context of our background, we’ve had burgers all over the United States, and we reside in Texas… where there are awesome burgers galore. We’ve also eaten all over Colorado and haven’t really found a lot of good places to eat… But that was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. The flavor, portion size, serving temperature and texture of the patties are specifically what made it so amazing.

I highly recommend this gem if you’re visiting Arvada. This is a great little town and places like this are what make it that way.
