Amici Gelato & Caffé — Restaurant in Asbury Park

The staff and owner at Amici were so warm and welcoming! I felt right at home. I've been in Asbury Park for the past 15 years and have seen many, many changes...not all for the better.

I've been to Twisted Tree twice since ownership changed and both times I felt like I was seriously bothering them. I was a single patron who ordered a simple meal and left in a reasonable time frame. The food there is still great and the carrot cake absolutely to die for, but I really don't want to give those people money so they can make me feel uncomfortable. That's not the energy that I'm used to seeing in town, but it is what I was afraid would happen as rents rose. The previous owners had been so warm that it was a great shock the first time I went in. It took me a year to go back thinking that maybe I had been too harsh after just one visit, but sadly the treatment was consistent.

I didn't even want to stay for coffee at Twisted Tree and instead went over to Amici. The guy at the counter was super warm and welcoming to both me and my little hypoallergenic dog. The owner came over and gave my pup a treat. The staff member checked in to make sure I didn't need anything else from the kitchen before the kitchen closed and encouraged me to sit and relax for as long as I would like.

The funniest part to me, is that just as I was happier and more relaxed at Amici, so was my dog! He was engaging in a lot of uncharacteristic barking at Twisted Tree and then just straight-up fell asleep and started snoring a little bit at Amici. If that's not a commentary on the energy there, I don't know what is!

I hope the owner is reading this, because I tried to find you before leaving to compliment in person. The wonderful treatment by you and your staff, especially the young man with glasses, has made your lovely little place stand out. I look forward to visiting frequently. Give that...

I was helping with a bridal shower recently for my future daughter-in-law at the local bier garden. I wanted to offer gelato as one of the desserts and found Amici's online and reached out. I spoke with Joe who along with his father, started the business. Right from the first conversation, I knew I had found the perfect place. Joe took the time to talk about what I was looking for and offered suggestions. He even said he would deliver the gelato the day of the shower. Joe was very accommodating, but more importantly, the gelato was amazing. The guests have not stopped talking about it. Our server even asked where we had purchased the gelato. I told her and gave her their business card. It is so refreshing to find a local merchant who cares about the customer and treats you like family.

The best gelato I’ve ever had!! I’ve visited more than a dozen times and each flavor of gelato I’ve chosen was not only appealing to the eye but the flavor is as bold as the naturals colors are rich. It is obvious Amici’s only uses the best ingredients. I’ve also had their paninis and different coffees and teas. The employees have all had wonderful suggestions and have been pleased every single time. It’s such a wonderfully designed shop that’s so bright and clean. Plus the outdoor seating is attracting with bold black and white awnings and bright red chairs. A must...
