Stopped by around 8 pm this past Saturday after the A.P. beerfest. The placed was jammed packed as expected but we were lucky to find two stools in front of the window. This review is not about the service which was lacking, its about the food. First of all I've been here before and had delicious pizza at a crazy good late night happy hour price. This time since it wasnt happy hour the pizza was regular price but still a bargain. I opted for linguine with white clam sauce ($16) for a change of pace. The dish arrived with a decent amount of pasta perfectly cooked al dente. On top of the pasta was about a dozen clams in their shells, again perfectly cooked, not at all rubbery or sandy. Very nice. The problem I had was with the sauce. Traditional white clam sauce is nothing more than the broth from the clams, some olive oil, garlic and a little white wine. For whatever reason the chef added a ton of butter which resulted in a heavy, greasy butter sauce that overpowered the dish. If they could ease up on the butter (or eliminate it altogether) this would be a winning dish. I still gave it 4 stars because i really do like this place. The atmosphere is low key, the prices are very reasonable and as stated before i really...
Read moreEvery time I go to Asbury, this is the one I go to! I have probably been here 3-4 times and it hits every time! The food is AMAZING!! Their pizzas, their GARLIC ROLLS (don't even get me started on those, my mouth will start watering), pastas, I have not had a single thing here that I didn't like! Some of the best restaurant food I've ever had is from this restaurant! They always have great service too! Last time we were there our server was so nice and was cracking jokes with us, he was so lovely! Wish I remembered his name because he deserves the shout out for his amazing service! I think they did some remodeling recently because the inside looks SO nice and the bar is beautiful! They also make a killer Arnold Palmer and my friend has ordered drinks from the bar that he liked! Great atmosphere and just great experience all around. I don't think I will ever be able to go to any of the other restaurants in the area because I just love this place so much! Planning on bringing my parents here soon so they can enjoy it too! My recommendations are the Garlic Rolls, that live in my mind rent free, and the...
Read moreReally looking forward to this place. It’s priced right, and the primary reason I wanted to try it, is because we love The Grand Tavern. Upon ordering wine, the server had no wine knowledge at all, so the manager came out and steered us into a very informed direction. We loved his suggestion.
Ordered the calamari, and it was literally some of the best I’ve had. Lightly battered and not yo heavy. Perfectly seasoned and tender. Ordered a ceasar to share, and that was a nightmare. It took approximately 30 minutes for a salad, and it wasn’t that busy at all. Approximately 8 people having dinner total in restaurant. My guess is the order was forgotten to be ordered, and eventually I asked where it might be. He apologized and eventually it made it. That was a well executed salad. Perfectly dressed and packed great flavor. My dinner guest had the cacio e Pepe. He claimed it was simply ok. Closer to an average alfredo. My pesto dish was nice, and I really enjoyed it. It’s a great restaurant and space with tons of potential. Service needs to be stepped up, but I’m looking forward to...
