Oh my god, to anyone who’s at all tempted to try Roadhouse Momo and Grill: run there, don’t walk. We keep laughing that it’s our goal to try everything on the menu—we’ve had Nepali food, but not like this. I have never left a Google review, but this place deserves it. Mostly because I want it to stay in business so I can continue being a patron.
Recommendations:
Samayabaji: a thali-esque mélange of eleven different dishes—for us it serves two. If you’re the kind who wants to try a little of everything, this is for you. Totally unique (at least to us) flavors, which is always such a treat and hard to find. Try it with the chicken choila. The soybeans are fantastic. I felt like this was the best introduction to the flavors that Roadhouse had to offer because there’s so much variety. Eat it with your hands, and mix and match the different dishes in each mouthful.
On a cold day the thukpa (soup) is the bomb. Like if curry and ramen had a baby, but not like one of those fusion restaurants that are so ubiquitous. It’s got some kick, but somehow still feels really gentle. And I love the chickpeas in it, which feel like a delightful little surprise.
Okay, the buff (buffalo) sekuti—literally mouth-watering. It’s like a highly spiced jerky. The owners gave us a sample the first time we went and I was fantasizing about it for like a week afterwards. I think it’s got Szechuan peppercorns in it and a lovely smokiness, but even if I’m wrong, I don’t care—it’s just really delicious.
And I can’t neglect to mention the jeri. If, like me, you’ve only ever had jeri from the fridge section of Patel Brothers (I’m a white girl, okay?), then you are missing out on a whole dimension of that experience. I don’t love sugar or sweets, and this stuff is sweeeeeeet. But even I, with zero sweet tooth, was piling these into my mouth with reckless abandon. I’m sure this is absolutely a bastardization of both cultures/cuisines, but imagine a sopapilla shaped like a tiny funnel cake that you wrap in a warm flour tortilla and chomp down on. Carby, honeyed glory.
I could go on, but instead I really need to talk about the owners. The service here is so warm and welcoming; you can tell they’ve really put a lot of heart and soul into this place. They completely broke down the menu for us the first time we came in and are just delights every time we come back.
The interior is also really gorgeous, which is really cool. I love a good hole-in-the-wall, but there’s something that really transports you about the wooden overhangs and decor they have inside.
So in short: fabulously nuanced, hard-to-find flavors and great vibes. Please bring your friends and family because I want this place to succeed so I can keep...

🚗 Atmosphere & Vibe
Roadhouse brings a slice of Kathmandu right into Loudoun. From Buddha and Ganesh statues at opposite corners to the Himalayan-style artwork and a lively bar, the space feels warm and cultural without being overdone. It’s comfortable enough for a casual meal but polished enough for a nice night out.
🍴 Food Highlights
The food here leans heavily into authentic Nepali flavors with a mix of Indo-Chinese dishes.
Momos (dumplings) – ⭐ The star of the menu. Juicy, well-seasoned fillings (pork, buff, chicken, or veggie) paired with their tomato-cilantro-sesame chutney.
Chili Chicken / Chilly Pork – 🔥 Bold and spicy. These dishes carry the real street-food kick you’d expect from Kathmandu.
Chow Mein – 🍜 A nice balance of ginger and heat with perfectly crisped chicken.
Sizzler – 🍲 A must-try. Served sizzling hot on a cast iron plate, it’s flavorful, filling, and makes the meal feel like an event in itself.
Lamb – 🐑 Tender, well-spiced, and one of the most satisfying mains on the menu. A dish that shows off the kitchen’s balance of bold seasoning and proper execution.
Grilled Proteins – 🥩 The bone-in pork chop is another standout: char-grilled, juicy, and spiced just right.
Goat Curry – 😐 The one letdown. Flavor was solid but the meat was a bit tough and underwhelming compared to the rest of the spread.
Desserts – 🍫🍨 Both the chocolate cake and the pistachio kulfi are strong finishes—rich, indulgent, and a sweet balance to the heat from the main dishes.
🍹 Drinks
The cocktails look fun and colorful, but most lean too sweet. After the first round, I quickly switched to beer, which paired far better with the bold, spicy dishes on the table. If you’re not into sweet drinks, stick with the beer list.
🤝 Service
Service is a real highlight here. The staff are friendly, attentive, and take time to guide you through the menu so you can explore confidently. Special mention to Sid, who went above and beyond—checking in often, making thoughtful recommendations, and ensuring the evening felt personal and memorable. It’s the kind of service that elevates a good meal into a great night out.
⭐ Verdict
Roadhouse Momo & Grill is one of the best spots in Loudoun for adventurous, flavor-packed dining. Come for the momos, sizzler, lamb, and grilled meats, while bracing for fiery chili dishes. Skip the goat curry, pair everything with a beer, and finish strong with either the chocolate cake or pistachio kulfi—especially if Sid is taking...
Read moreI am a Nepali food fanatic and I go to lots of places to get Nepali food. This place is such a find! I Usually hang out at local joints for lunch and happy hour but decided to venture in for some Nepali food. Let me tell you.. this place is the BEST nepali Restaurant around the east coast region. When I went there with some friends. I was welcomed by the owner and I can honestly say she is something different. She was very nice to us and welcomed us and made us feel at home. She also made sure to constantly check up on us and made sure that we provide any feedback we have regarding the food.
Chicken and Buff Momo- The Momo were out of this world and the pieces were so big that I needed more than one bite in order to finish a piece. The juiciness of the ground meets were something which made me like the momos.
Bhatmas Sadheko: perfect blend of spices, fresh and exceptional taste.
Pork Belly- This for me was the best food from the ones I had. Especially with the delicate sauce that was provided.
Buff Choila- The tender piece of buff meat with the spices provides us with the perfect experience as it was the first time I had buff as good as this in the DMV area.
Chicken Chilly- Perfect tender pieces of meat with mix of green peppers and onion which reminded me of home. I liked how it devoured my mouth and how well it went with my rice. The spice level was medium but I would suggest to get mild spicy
Chicken Chow Mein: The chicken Chow Mein was tasty and the portion size was also good. The proportion of chicken to noodles was also good that I don't quite see in other restaurants.
And to end, I really appreciated the friendly staff and the serving staff and their customer service. This is probably one of my most important thing regarding if a restaurant is good or not. I felt welcomed and that automatically got me in a good mood and I could tell that the food will be delicious. Roadhouse restaurant is on our my go-to list now. Loved the experience and will definitely...
