I decided to visit Thai Ashburn, a restaurant I'd heard a lot about. Hoping to enjoy my favorite dish, shrimp fried rice, I walked in with a smile on my face and left with a big disappointment.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, the atmosphere seemed cozy, and the service, though not extraordinary, was acceptable. I placed my order for shrimp fried rice, a dish I've enjoyed many times before and for which I had high expectations. However, my experience took an unexpected turn when I finally opened my order at home.
To start, the portion of rice was quite small. But what really left me astounded was the number of shrimp in my dish: only three. Yes, just three measly shrimp in a dish for which I had paid $16. I felt disappointed and ripped off.
I understand that prices can vary and that some ingredients are more expensive than others, but paying $16 for such a small portion with so few shrimp seems exaggerated and out of place. I expected that for that price, the restaurant would be more generous with the shrimp, especially in a dish where they are the main attraction.
In conclusion, my experience at Thai Ashburn was a great disappointment. While the taste of the rice was acceptable, the number of shrimp and the portion size do not justify the price I paid. I don't think I'll be visiting this restaurant again or recommending it to my friends and family unless they improve the balance between portion size and price. The value they place on their orders should be reflected in more generous and adequate...
Read moreMy sister raved about the food at this place so we went to go have it yesterday (2/4/20) We sat down, ordered our food and the waitress helped us in a timely manner. Our food came out, one dish was incorrect, we pointed it out and the waitress went and corrected our order. The food was actually really good and this was going to be our new go to spot for Thai food. Towards the end, we split the check. One check was signed while I was signing the other. The waitress rushed to us and picked up the check (while we are still sitting there) and She became confrontational ‘why no tip???’ In a very nasty attitude and combative manner. I said, well look at the second check... which she picked up right away. She said ‘oh’ and left. We walked out with the most shocked look in our faces. Never have we ever been treated like this or experienced anything like this where a server runs to your table while you’re still sitting to see how much tip was left so they can fight you on it. We are never coming back. Is this how you treat your customers? She needs proper training. She’s very rude and she should not be serving customers with this nasty attitude. She is running your customers away. Beware of this...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Thai Ashburn, and I cannot recommend it enough! The star of the evening was undoubtedly their Parang Curry, which was an absolute delight. The curry was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of spice and creaminess, enveloping tender pieces of chicken in a rich, flavorful sauce that had me savoring every bite. The freshness of the ingredients shone through, and the subtle hint of sweetness was a perfect complement to the aromatic spices.
Beyond the exceptional food, the service was top-notch. The staff was incredibly attentive and welcoming, making sure that every detail of our dining experience was just right. From the moment we walked in, we felt like valued guests, and our server was more than happy to guide us through the menu and offer recommendations. The warm and inviting atmosphere only added to the overall experience.
Whether you're a fan of Thai cuisine or new to it, Thai Ashburn's Parang Curry is a must-try, and the outstanding service ensures you'll want to come back for more. This restaurant is a true gem...
