Found this place after searching for local coffee shops and reading Google Reviews on it.
This is a small, locally-owned coffee shoppe using locally roasted beans. The owner (Chuck) runs his business alone and does an amazing job. I visited for the first time yesterday, October 21st. I had an Autumn Honduras, which is a light roast made by Dynamite Roasting Co (local). It was excellent. Thereās a choice of pastries and bagels (also local), a gluten-free muffin option, and scones, which Chick makes himself in-house. I was unable to try the scones yesterday because of a dairy allergy. When Chuck found this out, he said to come back tomorrow and he would make some fresh vegan ones. I did return today and he had them ready to go. Delicious! I donāt think you can ask for better customer service than that. This is a MUST STOP in Asheville, NC if you are a coffee lover and like supporting local businesses. This area, especially the Biltmore Village area, was devastated last year by the flooding. Most businesses are still struggling to get tourists back, so go visit these local shops. Look, you could go to Starbucks down the road, and waste your money on inferior coffee, but why????
BTW, there is a review on this place that says, āthe latte is $9 here and everything is overpriced, and you are forced to tip on top of that.ā Completely false! People should be ashamed of themself for lying. If you donāt like the place, fine, but donāt lie! I can tell you that from my two visits here, that if you arenāt happy Chuck will make it...

By looking at the comments, I will make an educated guess that his name is Chuck. He has such a positive attitude that is luminary. The chocolate chip banana bread...OMG! Bakers kiss. The hunks of chocolate chips were bittersweet in contrast to the sweet bananas. Loved it! For coffee, I chose the Cleo. He stated he come up with the recipe himself. I was impressed. It was very lovely. Next time, I will add vanilla in it. (Yes, I'm a weird ball but I love vanilla and carmel together). You can tell that he took pride in everything from the decor, coffee and pastries. It is hard to find someone with an eye...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhile dogsitting at The District in Biltmore Village, I walked over to The Daily Grind and I got the yummiest cup of green tea and slice of chocolate chip banana bread I've had in a long time! Plus the barista, Chuck, was a very charismatic, friendly, and polite gentleman. I definitely highly recommend this coffee shop to anyone in or traveling through Asheville, NC; they have great pastries and even better conversation! I know I look forward to...
