Steak 'n Shake — Restaurant in Ashland

I went through steak and shake tonight with my girlfriend's daughter and son. We ordered 6 bowls of soup and a few burgers. The bowls of soup were over filled and all 6 of them were stacked in the same bag. While driving home the lids on 3 of the bowls melted and soup went all over my vehicle all over my girlfriend's daughter and all over myself. it was hot and burned both me and my girlfriends daughter. I called steak and shake and was told that if I came back in they would replace the food and clean my vehicle. Upon arriving at steak and shake I went in and spoke with the manager Kelly who was extremely rude to me. I asked her if she wanted to go out to the truck and see what it looked like so she can see that the lids had melted and she said no that's OK. She was very short and snappy and I asked if I could just have a refund. She said no we don't give refunds but I'll be happy to give you your soup. I again reiterated how my truck was a mess and how both myself and my girlfriend's daughter had been burned she then said to me you came here to get soup I'll give you soup we do not give refunds. I then asked her who was the regional manager and she said she was the owner of the establishment. This has to be the worst service I have ever had in my entire life and I would not take a dog to steak and shake. When I got home and looked online a similar thing had happened to someone in November at the same steak and shake and Kelly was also rude to them. (editing from previous 5 start visit last year) The whole office came over, there were eight of us. We wanted to eat outside on their patio so they said we had to do a to go order, strange but fine. There was no system to let us know when our food was ready so we made a lot of trips in and out to check. Ended up missing one drink, which was fixed. When food came nothing was labeled and in one big bag which required all sandwiches to be opened and for us to guess who's sandwich is was without touching it. We were missing two burgers, two were made incorrectly, and we were missing two fries. When asked to fix the order we were told we ordered the wrong thing, though our receipt said otherwise. Eventually it almost all fixed but it was frustrating and one of us gave up and ate the "extra" burgers. All in all it would have been a 2-3 star visit but when we asked for refills we found out than since we ate outside they would be at full price. No one plans to return anytime soon.

This Steak ' n Shake needs to shake on out as fast as it moved in. One of the worst restaurants I have eaten in. Really I can't find anything at all good to say about the place. The wait is unreal to get seated, then the wait is double unreal to get your food. I ordered the 3 sliders and what I got was 1 hamburger cut in half, and then half of another one. I don't get the STEAK in the restaurant name because the meat on my so called sliders was so thin and so small it was like a quarter in the middle of the bun I could see through. My daughters hamburger had so much mustard on it , it was gross. The FF are so skinny and tiny there nasty. Good luck getting to finish your small portions of food before it gets cold with the AC blowing down over the table top, we about froze in the middle of 100 summer. We all ordered shakes which came after we were done eating and were so thin and runny it was like drinking flavored milk. She brought us a spoon which I had to laugh at, spoon the milk I guess. The entire experience was awful, the wait unreal. My recommendation is to shake on over to any other restaurant for some faster service and larger portions and eatable food because this place is a...
