Bob Evans — Restaurant in Ashtabula

About two weeks ago we placed an online order. We order 2 burgers with 2 sides each. It was delivered with both of the sides missing from one burger and one side missing from the other burger and the side that we did receive leaked all over everything else penetrating into the other containers ruining the other foods. I called in and was told that they could refund me but I could not replace the order due to their kitchen was closing in 10 minutes. Ok fine. I asked if they could remake the order I could come pick it up. They said that we could do that. I got there and the order still wasn’t ready. I waited….. and then when they brought it out they forgot the gravy for the mashed potatoes and the Mac and cheese for the other order, and they also forgot to load the loaded fries. The lady fixed everything. But if I hadn’t checked I would have gotten home and been in a similar situation. Now skip forward two weeks we figured we stop in and sit down in person thinking that our online order was just because they were closing and in a rush. NOPE. We waited 10 minutes at the door with 4 other couples to be seated.( the lady check other guest out never acknowledged any of us. Very warm and welcoming) When someone appeared they sat everyone. The table we were sat at was soaking wet. As I’m sitting there fanning the table with our menus a lady walks up talking on her phone holding a bin of silverware and drops silverware on the table I’m actually fanning without smiling or acknowledging us in anyway. We sat there looking at there menu for probably 15 ish minutes ( we don’t go out to eat often and it’s been a couple of years since we have been inside a bob Evans ) a server never greeted us, never took our drink order. After another 10 minutes of waiting for some kind of service we just said screw it walked out. We drove 30 seconds down the road to Applebees and were sat and had drinks and an appetizer in front of us in less time then what we spent at bob Evan’s after...

BOBBY's. is Struggling to get and keep good servers. May I warn you if your wanting to get in and out quickly go to Steak and Shake, or another local fast food restaurant or a drive thru. The staff they have do try, but are stretched so thin, that they're having a hard time getting patrons waited on quickly, and then because of the not fully staffed kitchen help, your gonna wait when they get your order. It's really not the wait staffs fault, nor necessarily the kitchen staff either. Management is lacking experience in hiring the right people. But these days, it's evident in many places, people just Don't Want TO Work..... Oh my review on the food was 3*, cuc my macaroni and cheese was dry, it'd sat in a warmer too long, and watch out for half cooked chunks of potato in they're Cream of Potato soup. I ordered fried, I think it was Cod fish. That was good, I've been satisfied with it both of the 2 last visits there. A good, not too fishy, very mild tasting fish filet. That was THE BEST PART OF MY MEAL. I ended my visit with a piece of the mixed 3 Berry Pie, with a crumb topping to go. It was a great midnight snack . I hope they can get some More EXPERIENCED Management , who can turn this place around. If your a true BOB EVANS Fan Iike me. Make sure you've got a couple hours, you will not get out quickly.

Update November & December 2023 I'm now saying service seams to been better since I first reviewed this restaurant..Food's being served more Quickly..Must be kitchen help has improved, maybe more experienced. Or just new more qualified cooks. NeedLess to say I still Do Recommend this...

Went here today 3/22/2022 at 4:30 walked in and requested a nice booth . The girl looked a us and said “ well , I don’t know …I will have to see what we have. “ * Mind you , it wasn’t busy and there were booths everywhere open . She came back and said we had 2 options of front booths right by the door where it’s cold where we were standing waiting .The worst booths there . I had my 85 year old mother with me and she gets chilled very quickly . I said can we sit in this room to the left , like a sun room with tables ? She’s like whatever . She goes over to the other waitresses all gathered together to obviously discuss the situation with them . By this time I was livid . We never sat down . I just said , you know what , just forget it . We will just go somewhere else . This was ridiculous . When a customer requests a booth in a certain area they should be accommodated , especially when you are not busy and many booths in that area are open ! This particular location of Bob Evens restaurant is known for not being the best . Your restaurant and food is not worth being treated this way . We took our business to Applebees where we got to sit where we wanted , were treated well and served way better quality food . I will never , ever visit this trashy location again !keep...
