My companion and I were seated right away, but then waited 15 minutes for a waitress to take our order. Finally ordered from the 2 for $3 menu, Asked for separate checks, she said no problem. Waitress asked if we wanted a junior drink or large, we didn't know there was a junior drink, we both ordered the Junior. After another 10 minute wait, the waitress brought the drinks and they were the large size, (first mistake), after that we never saw our waitress again (second mistake). A different waitress brought our food, I asked for the peppercorn sauce on the side, didn't get it (third mistake), my companions order was wrong (4th mistake), waitress said she will make it right, never saw her again (5th mistake). Meanwhile I am trying to get someones attention to find our waitress, totally ignored by every waitress walking by (6th mistake)... finally got someones attention and then a 3rd waitress comes 25 minutes later (7th mistake) with my companions correct order, and my peppercorn sauce on the side. The food was good but the burgers are so thin you can see through them, I swear they slice a 1/4 pound burger in half to make 2 burgers from one. Waited another 15 minutes for our checks brought to us by a 4th waitress, 1 check! We asked for separate checks when we ordered! (8th mistake). Read moreMan, this was upsetting. It's been years since I have gone to one of these establishments, and I was disappointed that they have changed to a kiosk only. There is no human interaction here besides them asking if you need help using the kiosk (which feels more like an insult no matter the tone) and when they call out that your food is done. But I remembered that the food was good so it might be worth it. And the burger was good. It's just that it was so small. I mean, it was the same size as a "dollar" burger. The whole experience left me disappointed. I wasn't even close to full or satisfied upon my departure. I'm typically not a person who Minds having to bus my own tables but it kind of annoyed me here because I felt like an employee that was serving myself: I took my own order, I picked up my food and brought it to the table I had to scan my receipt ro get my drink and I had to bus my table including sorting the dishes out from trash but of course they are still out here asking for tips. Read moreThe staff know our order by now, and which booth we like if open. The dining room is super clean compared to other Steak and Shake dining rooms I've been to. You may wait a few minutes for some shakes though. This is my favorite date spot for a cheap date with good food before we go fish/dog supply shopping at Edgewood Pet Center. I wear certain earrings before shopping, and the staff even writes happy messages for us on the reciept about our fish. Some of the staff even know our fishs' names and ask about them. We usually look for coupons in the "junk mail" and walk out with two shakes and two orders of chicken tenders for less than $20. Make sure to use the rewards app, but don't redeem rewards till checkout. After three trips we tend to earn a reward.
