Green Door Cafe — Restaurant in Astoria

AMAZINGGGGG! I was stoked to try this place. In the last year I've found out that I'm allergic to both dairy and gluten (plus a few other fun things) - which is an answer to prayer honestly because I'd been so sick without knowing why. And then BOOM, God showed me this Cafe while visiting Astoria that's right off the main street so I'd never noticed it before but wow is it a hidden gem.

The owner is lovely, so friendly and just warm which is who you want serving you! I took the food to go but the place is ADORABLE inside, very welcoming and chill. I couldn't even take pics before scarfing some down 😂🤣 Vegan/gf cheesecake? 12/10 plus the color is gorgeous. The crust is incredible Vegan/gf/sugar free chocolate chip cookies? 7/10 only because I don't like chocolate but still wanted to try one LOL Gluten free/vegan blt add avocado? 20/10 but I think next time I'll add some kind of hot sauce or spice. The bread is fantastic and the mayo is so good but I'd just want something extra Gluten free/Vegan bacon cauliflower soup? 20/10, will literally go back just to make everyone I know try it with me

Thank you guys for being open on New Years Day as well! May God bless you guys and give you more business through this year and I pray more people find out about this hidden gem. People eat junk when traveling/even just on a daily basis but we shouldn't do that to ourselves. Owning a restaurant is NOT easy but everything here was so well thought out!! I can't believe we have such an amazing place with delicious gluten free options right here in our little town! Everything I've tried here has been DELICIOUS and I've tried almost everything on the menu at this point. The cold pressed juices made on site are to die for - I especially love the pink one. My kiddo begs me to go out of my way to buy them for him! They've been doing some incredible weekly specials lately too. The one I had today has their house made kimchi and I was in heaven eating it. One week they had these unbelievable gluten free pancakes with lemon curd and it was the absolute best 🥰😋 The staff is great too - if you're a nerd like me make sure to chat them up about Magic the Gathering haha. I absolutely adore this little Cafe!! They had an incredible variety of allergy-friendly/diet-friendly food that was absolutely delicious. My mom has celiac and they had an astonishing number of options for her! The cake and icing were dense but bursting with amazing flavor. We tried a vanilla cake with almond flour, cream cheese icing, and strawberries in the middle. Surprisingly, it was also sugar-free and keto-friendly, although I couldn't even tell! The place itself is beautifully decorated and has a whimsical atmosphere. It's filled with plants, funky designs, and unique collectibles.
