Captain D's — Restaurant in Athens-Clarke County Unified Government

Food was good. Expected quality and temperature. Several customers before me had their orders filled incorrectly. I just sat and listened and watched as the people behind the counter behaved in a very unprofessional manner. Saying out loud that the guests made mistakes when ordering. The employees were very vocal about doing their jobs correctly. The guests were being patient with the prolonged wait times and being polite. The person cooking the food then yelled out "what's his order" referring to me. I politely corrected the person who stated my order incorrectly. You don't anger the people cooking your food. I checked everything before leaving, and it was correct. I rarely eat at Captain D's and often get food here for my mother, which is the reason I'm tolerant of their levels of service. If I had been ordering for myself, I probably would have gotten a refund in protest of the service in general. I just choose not to spend my dollars in chaotic...

The ladies that were working the front had to be the nicest and sweetest hard working ladies ever. The back was getting stuff done, but smiling while they worked. I came in to order takeout, so while I was waiting a elderly couple came in to sit and eat. These ladies went the extra step making this couple's date nite extra special. It was very sweet and the couple even remarked how special they made something ordinary very nice. My food was excellent as it always is when I get to come here, it's a little out of my way but well worth coming to this C.D'S. I love to see happy people doing a wonderful job. Who wants to work. but instead of letting life get them down this group seem to be happy doing what they do. Management maybe needs to give them a nice word or even something better. Lunch time at Captain D's with a friend. The interior looks a little dated but it was clean.

We ordered the fish lunch specials; one plate with extra veggies and the other with a crab cake. The cashier, Rosa, was absolutely all about helping the customers....what a treat to witness! She not only made sure WE were good, but EVERYone was cared for.

At one point during our meal, a different customer found that the ice was stuck in the drink machine and not dispensing...no worries with Rosa on the job! She came in there and had it working again in no time. She truly made each customer HER Customer -- something I don't witness much these days.

The food was very tasty and enjoyable. Plenty of condiments were available and plastic ware were all fully stocked.

A very enjoyable lunch, glad we stopped and will definitely return.... especially knowing they have...
