Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant — Restaurant in Atlanta

Beware!!!!! I held off on doing this review because I was waiting for a manager to call me, but they never did. So, yesterday before I placed my Uber eats order I called the restaurant to find out what type of veggies thay had. A nice young lady by the name of Sky answered and asked my for my name because she wanted to make sure I wanted plantains because it's not an option on Uber. We ordered curry chicken with yellow rice and stewed chicken with rice and peas. She asked me if i wanted my gravy light, medium or heavy. I said wow this is excellent customer service. I told her medium. However, when I received our order not only was it wrong, but there was no gravy at all!!!! Just dry chicken over rice. Who does that especially at a Jamaican restaurant. Also my curry chicken ended up with the rice and peas which I don't like and my husband with the yellow rice. Just all wrong. So, today I called at 8:52a.m to speak with a manager who wasn't available, but I did speak with Shay who assured me that a manager would be contacting me. Shay also said that they don't take orders over the phone and that Sky should not have done that. I callled back at 10:48a.m. Still no manager. It's a shame because we love Jamaican food, but I will not patrinize any established that doesn't respect my hard earned money. So this Golden Crust has lost our business for life and it's a shame because it's the closest one to my home. Money wasted and went to bed Hungry! Update. A manager Jalen decides to call at 3:26p.m after i left this review and lied and said he called me. No voicemail or anything. In fact if he had called then why would I have called back a second time to speak to him and again to be told he wasn't available! You can't make it make sense! We went to this location on Mother's Day 5/11/2025 because the locations we typically go to were closed. We called ahead and asked if they had oxtails, but when we got there there, they were sold out. We ordered two small stewed chicken dinners and it was horrible. The cabbage had no flavor, and the chicken was bland. I don't know if it comes with plantains or not but there were none. I called the following day to express how displeased I was with the food, and inquired if they would give us a refund or allow us to get something else in exchange, and was told NO I'M SORRY by the young lady who answered the phone. I quickly requested to speak with a manager and she set the phone down. I've been currently holding for 17 minutes now listening to everything in the background. I was never asked what was wrong with the food or if I still have it - which I did keep it (just incase they asked for it). While the customer service was okay during my initial visit, it was horrible today. I have frequented various Golden Krust locations and this one by far is the worst I've ever been to. I was pleased to see the sign on the side of the road as I had planned to go for sushi after picking up my wife from the airport. Being a foodie and living in West Georgia makes it hard to satiate your culinary appetite. Once I told her there was Caribbean cuisine close by we decided we would give it a shot. When we arrived it was extremely busy and there was hardly a place to park. Thankfully we seemed to be at the end of the lunch rush. Upon walking in you are immediately transported to a Caribbean roadside restaurant. Unfortunately there is very little seating, but that is truly the only downside. Plan to get your food to go. The food itself was amazing. We purchased the curry chicken with rice and peas (think red beans and rice) and the jerk chicken with yellow rice. We also chose the cabbage and fried plantains for our sides. We did have a sample of the oxtail and will be getting that on our next visit. The service was amazing and all the flavors were authentic and so delicious! We cannot wait for our next trip back! I’ll have to add pictures as the food was too delicious to stop...
