My friend & I stayed over Monday night, and checked out Tuesday morning. The room itself was great, with the exception of finding a flip flop in the corner, the bathroom not having a fan to let out the steam from the shower, and the cable being spotty. Prior to checking in, we had a tough time with parking as the parking garage is very small and very narrow. They also don't tell you when you book that parking in their lot is $20, added onto the room upon checking in. Once we were parked and headed into the hotel to check in, a man was lurking around trying to get into the hotel. Sawyer (I think that was her name, I could be wrong) at the front desk around 12AM did a great job telling the man to leave & threatening to call the cops on him as he had previously tried to get in (according to her). He eventually left and we were able to check in, but he snuck back in and got on the elevator with us. We got off on our floor and immediately went in the opposite way of our room, and he stayed on the elevator. After settling into our room, we called down to the front desk to ask if they had drinks we could charge to the room and to make sure the man had left and it was safe to come down. Sawyer told us that she had the police looking for him so we should be fine, so with that we went down with no problems, until we tried to go back up. He followed us onto the elevator again, and this time got out on our floor with us and followed us (thank god we went the opposite way of our room again). We got away from him by ducking into the staircase, but as we made our way down the front desk to tell Sawyer & the cops where he was, a women came off the elevator saying he had used the stairs to get to the 3rd floor, (we were on the 2nd floor), so he was trying to follow us, my guess is that he thought we would go up & not down. He ended up coming down the elevator and tried getting back on once he spotted Sawyer & the cops, but the cops ended up getting him. The rest of the trip was great & the hotel staff was awesome, but it was definitely a very scary experience, for 2 23 year old women, our first time in Atlanta. If you stay here, try to get their early in the evening (daytime) to avoid this kind of event. Otherwise, our time in Atlanta was awesome, definitely check out the aquarium/coke museum, this hotel was very close...
Read moreI selected this hotel based on the positive reviews, location, and my experience with the #Hilton brand. I haven't been this disappointed in awhile. I called ahead of my reservation to confirm that I could park my car with a small camping trailer attached as my family and I were making a stop after a camping trip. I was assured that this was fine. I requested self parking, but was told that self parking was not permitted and only valet parking was permitted. Despite my trepidation with a valet parking my car and trailer, I still booked the room. When my family and I arrived, the valet happily parked our car and trailer near the front of the hotel entrance. We went about our day sightseeing. At 11:20pm after a day of sightseeing, we were awoken from a sound sleep with a phone call from the front desk. When my husband answered, he was told we had to move our car. We were confused as we initially were informed that self parking was not permitted. My husband went to speak with the attendant at the front desk. The attendant told him to go park our car and small trailer on the sidewalk outside of the hotel property because it was trash night and our car was blocking the dumpster, and the valet on duty did not feel comfortable driving our car and small trailer. Even though we did not park the car here (because we were told self parking was not permitted), my husband moved the car. My husband was told that the valet fee would be refunded. We were disappointed to learn that even after being woken up after 11pm to move the car ourselves we were still being charged for the valet fee. My husband asked to speak to the hotel manager in the morning, but he was not available. My husband left his number, but never received a call. My husband even left a message for the manager and never received a return call. It is extremely disappointing that a prominent well known brand such as #Hilton #Hamptoninn would not only wake up sleeping travelers who were sound asleep, but also not even care about the effect of causing their guests discomfort. If you expect people to do what they say, or even to get a good night's sleep without interruption, do not stay...
Read moreExtremely over priced for the quality of the room/amenities provided. I have always had pleasant experiences with the #Hilton #Hamptoninn brand in the past, until now. The staff was friendly and helpful upon check in. The room had some signs of neglect, the window shade had tears in it, the mini-fridge wouldn't get cold, the sink basin in the bathroom was coming apart from the wooden stand. The bed was very uncomfortable and incredibly hard. The pillows were very uncomfortable, even with 2 stacked together, they felt almost nonexistent. My husband asked the front desk for an extra pillow for our son and they brought 1 and said that it was the only extra pillow they had in the entire hotel. The staff also had mentioned that there were not many other people staying in the hotel on the dates that we were there. Going into the bathroom, the floor where the bathroom and the room connected had a raised concrete (or tile, some kind of stone like flooring) "lip" is the best way I can describe it, and all 3 of us (my husband, son and I) tripped over it or hit our toes or some other part of our foot on it several times. I found a couple of centipedes in the bathroom floor as well. The bathtub was incredibly slippery and had no grip on the bottom at all which caused my son to slip and fall as soon as he got into the bath tub, luckily he wasn't hurt aside from a bruise on the side of his hip. Our credit card was charged two incidental fees of $60 each. My husband called the front desk to inquire about these additional charges, they redirected him to the supervisor who explained that we were accidentally charged twice and we did get refunded for the additional charge. The only parking they offer is valet for $20 per night, which they deducted from the initial $60 incidental fee. To charge around $400 per night for the quality of the room we had seems very disrespectful and absurd to customers who have trusted the #Hilton #Hamptoninn brand for many years. We will not be staying at this hotel or any #Hilton...
