This is the worst place I've ever been to Atlanta for food! A waiter didn't come until after 20 minutes of being seated. We ordered our drinks, which were nothing but water, and ordered our meals at the same time because we waited so long we were able choose our meals. Another 20 minutes goes past; we still didn't have our drinks, and then at the 35 to 40 minute mark a man came sauntering out, looking mad as hell, then rudely flung what I couldn't believe was a SINGLE crab cake appetizer that cost $19 bucks (Kroger sells better tasting crab cakes 2 for $10). All the food was overpriced and portions were low. By the way, we had no water or no eating utensils at the time. In other words, our appetizer came out and they expected us to eat with our hands. Eventually the waiter brought our drinks, utensils and main dishes. We had salmon burger, salmon meal, and crab fried rice - all were absolutely disgusting. I did like the broccoli (my date didn't as much).
A gentleman (presumably the manager) was going table to table asking how people's experience went. As soon as I said the food took long, this gentleman immediately goes into defense mode and says to me basically "you're lucky I didn't take longer!" He gave condescendingly gave an excuse about another table placing orders and that overloaded network infrastructure - it sounded like a lie. What some business owners don't understand, especially in markets where the barrier to entry is rock-bottom-low like restaurants, is that businesses are not about YOU becoming rich, that's a byproduct! Businesses are about providing VALUE to customers and in return they give you capital. Fixing YOUR Wi-Fi and fixing YOUR network connectivity issues, is YOUR business's problem! Your business is at fault for not having proper infrastructure, NOT me as the customer! You're NOT doing us a favor!
Lastly, and the MOST egregious part is that the waitress quickly put in 20% gratuity without telling me (they ONLY stated they did this with parties of 4 or more), while I was paying so I ended up giving her 25% tip! I was stolen from! This place has high cost, low food portions, thieving staff, arrogant managers, revolting service, with ungodly wait times. I wish we got up and went to get fast food half-way in like my date suggested. Absolutely...
Read moreCirque Blu Seafood House is serving up the most delicious seafood dishes with a Southern twist in West Midtown. What I loved the most about this restaurant was the upscale environment-the bar is lined with gold seats as you walk to your table. The food menu is broken down into the following categories: appetizers, oyster bar, steamers, soup and salads, burgers, surf and turf, and the weekly specials (like all-you-can-eat snow crabs) that I will tell you about shortly.
The bar is fully stocked! The drinks range from strong, very strong or lethal and you can order 12, 16, 36 ounces. If you are feeling fancy try one of the specialty and premium drinks like the Apple Bottom which has sour apple and Ciroc Apple; Or, go with a blended mix like the Rum Punch which is a thirst-quenching, tropical mix of cherry, pineapple, and rum. Yum! Pitchers, wine, and beer are also available. Want to know what I tried at Blu Seafood House? Keep reading to find out.
I started with Blu Seafood Sampler as my appetizer. This dish came with a bit of everything - crispy fried fish, jumbo shrimp, and crab fingers. Great portion size and came out steaming hot. Start with this dish if you are unsure of what to order.
Then it was time for the mains. I dug into the lobster tails first. Twin Lobster tails deep-fried with a side of spinach. It was chef's kiss! The breading is similar to what you would find on Southern fried catfish and just delicious. Then I tried the Oxtail Susie which was simply good home cooking and so tender. The gravy was so good! You have to try it with the macaroni and cheese!
I went with two signature drinks, the blue mutha’ shut yo’ mouth and the ga peach! Both are made with a good amount of 190% grain alcohol.
What to look forward to at Blu Seafood House. I will be back to dine on the outdoor patio. It's covered and lit! Blu also has hookah service. Weekly specials are as follows. Monday all you eat crab legs. Tuesday drink wristband for just $10. Wednesday all you can eat oysters. Thursday and Friday five-dollar Happy Hour with karaoke starting at 3pm. Saturday and Sunday Brunch starting at 4pm. Follow @ServingLooksATL for more...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. The service was so terrible till the point I didn’t even try the food. Being from Atlanta & often seeing young employees makes me happy, but lazy and unprofessional workers are unacceptable.
As I enter the establishment the heat was not on, mind you it’s 41 degrees outside. The staff that are supposed to be at the door behind the podium were sitting down at the high table across from the hostess podium. The hostess barely greeted us, meaning she didn’t get up out her seat she turned around as she was sitting to ask our party size. She then turned back around did not say anything and started walking then she stops and signals us to follow her. Her braids were unprofessional for the work setting. She should have had a bun or ponytail allowing her hair to be up versus down her back to the floor. She tries to sit us at a table that is in the further back in the middle of the walkway. I requested to sit in a booth, mind you plenty were open, allowing to staff to sit there and lounge on their phone amongst one another. She denied my request stating we had to have a bigger party and we could sit at the bar. We go to sit and another unprofessional lady with extremely long white fingernails walks up to us to tell us the side of the bar we were trying to sit on was closed although it was 4 people sitting on that side as well. Two people had plates while the other two were drinking beverages. The restaurant didn’t close this night until 12 and it was only 8:25pm, I asked why is it closed and she gave no response as if she didn’t hear me and continues to tell the other staff member that side of the bar is closed. I stated well, since it’s no where for us to sit on that side can we just sit in one of the open booths. She said no. I was upset and left. As a public health inspector, I pray I get to inspect this establishment. If not I am sure my colleagues will take great pleasure in this inspection hence this review was noted in our system for an urgent unexpected inspection. It’s sad when the owner has expectations and the staff don’t exceed of...
