The food was good although it was smaller inside than expected. We had reservations but still wound up sitting at the bar anyway. It was a lil hot in there at first but it felt like it cooled off after a bit. The general atmosphere was a cool vibe. For a Sat afternoon, they were doing good business but it wasn't too crowded either. The food came out pretty fast which we liked but was served with a few flies. The tastes of the food is on point. We got bananas foster french toast, shrimp and grits with sides of bacon and blackened shrimp. The drink was called passionate nights. It was real cute with the lit sugar cube and coconut style cup. It was sweet and definitely doing what I expected it to do. Two drinks per person was good enough for the situation... They did have a list of "rules" prior to getting to the menu. It wasn't that bad. Mostly the announcement of 18% gratuity auto added to the tickets, 2hr table time, etc... I've definitely seen worse at other establishments so I don't think that's worth a complaint. I went in the restroom but didn't use it to know how clean they were. Heads Up; Parking (Valet =$10) was on the next block up at Spice House. Street parking might get you ticketed and/or booted. The restaurant has a sign outside to alert the customers in efforts to avoid the headaches. Overall, it was real cute. We'd go back (wanna try the other location) & I'd recommend this place to others.

The food was spectacular. The shrimp and grits were cooked to perfection with a slight spicy kick. Nothing too strong where a mediocre spicy lover couldn't handle. The chicken sausage was cooked to perfection, with a good solid taste(seasoned), and it was a nice sized portion as well. The buttermilk biscuits will make you slap your mama if she is nearby, but you most definitely must tell your mama you are sorry before you slap her. The EXTREME highlight of the brunch was the Apple Cobbler French Toast. This was the BEST French Toast I have ever tasted in my life. One bite of this and you will hear the harps playing while you enter the Gates of Heaven. The waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and very helpful. She gave top notch service and always kept a smile on her face and even took some pictures for us all. The only negative I would give this establishment is the parking. The parking isn't the best where you have to be lucky to park on the street or a nearby business called Spice House where they valet with only 1 guy doing it all. It's a short walk from the business to the restaurant, but the food was well worth it. I will be visiting the other location to sample the food and set up there as well.
