It was such a disappointment and actually an unsafe environment. Had to stay for four nights due to a three day conference. I read the previous reviews and did not really want to stay here but I thought it was convenient for my meeting and could not be as bad as the reviews stated. WRONG, it’s bad! Peeling and missing wood flooring in the kitchen, cupboard doors hanging crooked from hinges, lights repaired at the socket with electrical tape and a TV that had no remote - but that was okay because it did not work anyway. Furniture that was in severe disrepair and that was just my room. Other guests had flooded rooms, holes in bedroom doors, room doors that would not securely close, and shower doors that could have fallen inward into the shower, not to mention bugs (roaches). I know of two instances where rooms were given to new check-ins while people were still staying in the room and walked in on. UNBELIEVABLE! I also called prior to my stay to ask about the fitness center and if it was open, they said “yes”. Well, technically it is but ALL 3 treadmills are “out of order” and if you read a review from earlier July, they were out of order even then. Also, it would have been nice to have been warned due to the location of my room that due to construction of a building being “secured” to the walls of the hotel, you will be awakened between 5:00 am and 6:00 am with the sounds of drilling and material falling between the walls.
Staff is pleasant and I realize that hiring is and can be an issue but the overall poor communication between management and staff is evident. In the 3 days of our meeting, no one from the hotel came to check to see if we needed anything or if there were issues. The hotel maintenance was to come to the meeting room the first day to see if the window curtains could be opened - we were told that the previous people in the room had broken the mechanism that opens the curtains - of course, NO ONE SHOWED UP. The meeting room bathrooms were not cleaned daily and we ran out of soap, paper towels and toilet tissue in both bathrooms by day 2. Shameful when you have a contract with businesses for services. Valet parking seemed totally unaware of the arrival of meeting attendees and daily valet charges were different for different people.
I brought to the attention of the hotel that the TV was missing a remote and actually did not work - that was my first day. The Chief of Engineering came to my room and promised a new TV and remote - I’m checking out now and still waiting for the TV. As a Hilton Honors member I am sad to see the deployable condition of both the Homewood Suites and Hilton Garden Inn - my colleagues had similar issues staying there.
Please management, DO NOT BOTHER TO RESPOND! You respond to every review but it is apparent that nothing will improve the situation. The hotel is a serious safety hazard to guests and everyone should be concerned. I know that both hotels will be renovated beginning in October but that is no excuse for the lack of ongoing maintenance for...
Read moreI'd give this place a 3.5 overall. This place was my home away from home after a kitchen fire at home. I was here with my son who was doing a mixture of virtual and in person school as well as getting ready to graduate from middle school. I work from home and was unable to work because of the fire but still... I read the reviews after ther insurance company suggested this location due to its proximity to my home and some of the reviews had me worried but my overall experience here was great. The parking lot a little tight and definitely could use a good power wash but I felt safe in there. There was nobody randomly hanging out or lurking and I didn't hear about or see evidence of any car theft or break ins while I was there for 2 weeks. All my staff encounters were nice. The first night we got there, there weren't any of the double queens available. We had a room with a kind sized bed and a pull out couch. We could have easily stayed comfortably in that room but the very next day, they gave us a suite with the double beds and it was awesome. Awesome view and set up especially for the virtual school days. I did a mixture a cooking easy meals like microwave pizza and spaghetti because they have stove eyes as well microwaves but no oven. Full sized fridge though with dishwasher and I would definitely recommend washing any dishes before using them! Uber Eats and Door Dash had no issue finding the location and I chose to meet them in the lobby but I don't think they'd have issues coming to the room. The hotel had many cameras as well. Housekeeping was great, I got new towels daily and other things like tissue, soap and even dishwasher cleaner about every other day. I wish the pool had been open but realistically most outdoor pools don't open until memorial day. I enjoyed the gym. I went almost daily during my stay and no one else was ever in there. People would walk by and peak in, though. I also wish they would have had a traditional or warm breakfast. They did have yogurt, fruit, muffins and bagels... things like that but no breakfast meat or eggs, e.t.c. There is a bar that looks nice but I didn't experience it at all. The location is great. We walked to a couple locations near by and even went across the street to the gas station for a late night snack. My room was pretty clean. The dishes was my biggest thing. Again please was them first. I can't comment on the current prices because my insurance paid for this visit BUT my son wants to come back and have a sleepover for his birthday so...
Read moreI don't usually rant, but I'm going to do it now. So when you stay in a hotel a lot, sometimes your best way to wind down from your travels is watching a little tv. Don't expect that here. First, no online guide. I contacted the front desk to ask and NO, no online guide. Second, no accurate in room printed guide, it is totally useless. ......After you contact the front desk about it, they are no help. I asked them what service provider they use and searched out an online guide, that was no help either. It did not match up, an hour or so wasted. Finally found a station I wanted to watch and then went to the bedroom to watch it and surprise, the other tv did not have the same channels available and in no way corresponded to the channels in the other room. It wasn't even available on the other tv......how does that even happen??. What's the point of a suite??? I have now wasted a good 2 hours of my night and still haven't even caught a whole show. Alright, the hotel is nice so far but if most of my evening is wasted just trying to find something to watch, then its not worth it. I travel a lot and this is not ok. The response I got from hilton was deplorable and has prompted me to switch to Marriott for my future stays..a good 50 or so nights a year. I called hilton and only could get a promise of a future email reply. Good grief, Mon-Fri I am at a hilton hotel more than I am my own home, which, btw, I have a tv guide channel/listing. All I really needed was just a little help finding tv listings or just someone to pass along my requests for the future. I did a hypothetical phone call to Marriott with the same situation and got a way better response than all my phone calls tonight to hilton I spent dealing with this and it only started out with just a little frustration over tv channels. Although I have stayed at hilton exclusively for the last few years, their total lack of caring/and or response to my frustration tonight has prompted me to change to another hotel chain......really?????
Follow up.......now I am at breakfast....sad to say. Once again, really? Steamy grey sausage? Ice in the OJ? That was a nice watered down drink. I have seen numerous people throw their entire plate of food in the trash. Glad I just opted for a bowl of cereal....but would have been nice if they actually had whole milk.
Thankfully one more night to go and...
