HE USED HIS KEY AND TOLD MY KIDS TO TELL ME THAT I WAS 10 MINUTES LATE PAYING THE RENT THAT WAS DUE AT 11:10 AM . I had a reservation for a 7-night stay, which I confirmed over the phone while traveling from Florida. I disclosed that I would be bringing an ESA and was assured this would not be an issue with proper documentation. I also provided my expected arrival time (7:15 PM) and was told someone would be available to check me in. Upon arrival, the lobby was locked and unattended. The posted lobby phone did not connect to the after-hours assistance line. I used my personal phone to reach someone named Norman, who identified himself as the property attendant. He stated he was off-site and unable to assist, and told me to return the next day at 11 AM. When I asked to speak to a manager or escalate the issue, he dismissively replied, āIām right behind you, and no,ā followed by, āIām not going to argue with you; I donāt have time for this.ā His tone was unprofessional and condescending. Left with no other option, I had to secure alternate lodging for the night. I returned the following morning and spoke with Melinda, the general manager. Unfortunately, the interaction was equally disappointing. She claimed my reservation had already been canceled, which was inaccurateāI had already been charged for the previous night, and the booking still appeared active. When I raised concerns about the mishandled check-in, the charge for a night I did not stay, and how the situation would be resolved, she offered no real solutions. Despite assuring me that the reservation would be canceled and no further charges would be made, that was not the case. At no point was an apology offered, nor was there any accountability or acknowledgment of the inconvenience this caused. Iāve also attempted to follow up through the property and through the booking platform, and have yet to receive a response.This was one of the most frustrating and disappointing travel experiences Iāve had.
