A staff member barged into our room and frightened us without knocking or announcing his or herself while we were sleeping in the nude! We were startled awake when we heard the door open and saw a figure dash in and quickly turn around slamming the door on the way out. At first we thought another guest must have somehow entered the wrong room, because surely an employee would have apologized! The thought of a guest having access to our room and our belongings was upsetting, not to mention the invasion of our space and privacy! So, we called down to the front desk immediately to report that someone had barged into our room and we wanted reassurance that we were safe and it would not happen again during our stay at the hotel. It was more than a little unsettling. In all of the years that I have been staying at hotels, resorts and b&b’s, I have never had a stranger enter my room without my permission. It’s just safe to assume that one can sleep nude or be dressed or undressed in one’s hotel room with no concern of anyone having a key that works and just walking in on you! Mistakes happen, but the hotel management did not address the problem or take care of me in the manner they should have. My phone call to the front desk was met with an apology and an offer of a free dinner. The hotel did run an electronic key diagnostic the following day to see if the key used in my door belonged to a guest or a staff member. The operations manager called to let me know that it was not a guest but rather a housekeeping team member who had entered our room. Again, another pleasant apology but no further action was taken to take care of me, my bill or put me in touch with the general manager. Mistakes happen and embarrassing costumer service failures come up, its the way the staff and management remedy the mistake and take care of the customer that makes or breaks the experience. The management team did not have the appropriate response to what occurred as a blatant invasion of my privacy and an intrusion into my space. A free dinner is not the appropriate remedy in this case. I never received a call from the general manager or the operations manager and i was at the hotel for almost 3 days. I had to be the one to reach out to them and pursue a conversation with them. Again, very unprofessional to let that slide. I did not have the experience of being taken care of by the leadership team at this hotel. They seemed to take very lightly, something that was a frightening and upsetting situation to me...
Read moreThe prices of this hotels rooms are much higher than they should be considering it’s condition…… The lobby is cleaned at the bare minimum, but what it really needs is a DEEP CLEAN! When we got into our room (two queen bed room on the 7th floor) we found bugs. We got rid of them and didn't come across any others during our stay. Very odd/bad smelling hotel all together. Lucky me, my 7th floor stay was accompanied by a strong smell of paint from the room bagged off across from me. Outlets in the corner of the room on a lamp pole are the only ones that work. Carpets are dirty and stained. This hotel is directly next to the highway but it was surprisingly not very loud. The pool doesn’t look maintained, no one got in it from what I saw from my five day stay. At arrival there was poop on the floor, the ac has black mold on it… breakfast was supposed to be open 7am-10am but they weren’t and even if they were they only have bagels. The staff doesn’t seem to be phased that they’re at work, very minimum effort all the way around. Parking $28/day which we were aware of but NO SECURITY- why am I paying them to not guard my vehicle? Signs saying you’re responsible for your own car and any break ins. There’s plenty of parking considering it doesn’t seem like many people stay here.. $150 deposit that isn’t mentioned that you get back 7 business days after your stay. The first night we were here, @7 am the fire alarm went off and the entire hotel had to evacuate over a false alarm. There were elderly old people who were struggling to get down the stairs (some from the seventh floor, sitting down every few steps) so my husband and I were helping them down the stairs and NO employees were anywhere making sure people got out IN FACT we DIDN'T end up getting out!!!!!! We were stuck in the stairwell for 45 mins or so!!!! Never made it outside. If there was a real fire we’d be dead. NOTE: this hotel will NOT clean your room, unless you ask. Lastly I called the front desk for towels and toilet paper (1/2 of a roll was loaded when we got here) they said they’d be right up and never came. On a lighter note, I booked with (I think his name was) Greg, he was very nice and accommodating. The complimentary coffee in the lobby was nice after a...
Read moreI booked this hotel on booking.com for what I paid and then also had to pay additional for parking on the property I could have gotten a nicer hotel with parking included and free breakfast the room was not as clean as I would have expected or wanted, the bathroom had hair in the tub and on the floor that did not belong to us! There was a musty pee smell in the bathroom, and the main part of the room was very musty! We had a balcony but it took two of us to open the door for the balcony. Also we arrived early so that we could see where it was located before we went riding around the city. At that time we confirmed our booking have a conversation about getting a room on one side of the building versus the other because of the view knowing that we were going to have a balcony room. We were told that that would not be a problem whatsoever, however, when we arrived for our check-in it wasn't until we got upstairs to our room that we realized they put us on the complete opposite side so all we had to look at was trees!I can't say that even though I was afraid to turn back the covers because of the condition of the bathroom I didn't want to risk it with the bed but the beds were in fact comfortable the one and only chair in our room was so very Staind that we felt the need to cover it with towels. Also my guest and I are both disabled and we asked for a luggage cart when we arrived the clerk that was working told us that it could be anywhere so we needed to go look for it. Naturally I did not accept that and told him that he needed to go look for it or find someone that would. He then left us sitting in the lobby for more than 30 minutes waiting for a luggage cart. I would never stay at this hotel ever again. It is overpriced, not clean enough, and I knew nothing in advance about a $150 security deposit or $28 parking fee. The location however is decent as it is close to everything we were going to.... Wish I had stayed at the Hilton which would have cost me the same as this hotel with the parking included and I would not have been charged a $150 security deposit and everything would have been nice and clean and they would have bent over backwards to not only get me a luggage card but probably help unload...
