This was truly a disappointing experience. I've been to locations in NYC and GA, and this is the worst customer service experience. My friends arrived before me (around 8:30pm), secured a table and placed orders for drinks and appetizers. I arrived at 8:55pm and 5 minutes later, a waiter came over and took my drink order. He asked if I wanted to order appetizers, and I politely told him that I wouldn't be ordering appetizers, but would look over the menu for my chicken entree order. We figured out what we wanted to order, and waited. And waited. We watched as the table of 3 next to us was provided 3 rounds of drinks (2 rounds of cocktails and 1 round of soju bombs) and food, a group of 7 attempted to be seated but left, and we were able to ease drop on the table behind us (it was a saucy convo and we couldn't help because we were just sitting there). The same waiter who took my drink order provided that table of 3 their orders and cleared the tables that surrounded our table. But at no point did he stop by to check on us. In fact, since I placed my drink order, no one came back to our table. Not even with my drink. We couldn't walk out because my friends had received their drinks and appetizers.
As we were figuring out our options, I started looking for somewhere else to dine. At that time, one of my friends got on her phone to call the restaurant while we were sitting. We watched as the waiter who took my drink order answered the phone. My friend explained that we wanted to speak with a manager because we had been sitting in the restaurant for an hour and no one had come to check on us or take our entree orders. She raised her hand and the waiter came over to our table. My friend explained in detail how we have been waiting an hour to place our entree order, receive my drink, water to be refilled, etc. and we had watched as he serviced everyone else and cleaned 2 tables near ours. He gave a disingenuous apology, stated that our table wasn't assigned to him, and went to get the waiter who was assigned our table. This didn't make any sense to us because he apparently had been servicing my friends prior to my arrival and the other waiter had only brought over their drinks. And how is that information relevant to us if he has been servicing us prior to that hour wait. He asked if I wanted my drink, and I politely declined. However, my friend wanted to speak with the manager but the waiter who was supposed to be serving us came over. The situation was explained again and he asked us why we didn't come get him and what did we want him to do. Why would we get him when he only brought the drinks? Also, it is their job to routinely check on their customers. My very vocal friend at this point said that she would like to speak with the manager and at this point they already ordered food that was provided should be comped. The owner finally came over, the situation was explained for a fourth time, and his response was "Ok well what do you want?" She expressed that the meal should be calm so that we could leave and he angrily told us to "Ok just leave then."
The entire experience was unprofessional, rude, and disheartening as the manager and waiters were entirely dismissive with no care in taking accountability for their lackluster and negligent customer service. Luckily for us the Greedy Bunch next door was able to...
Read moreThis is one of the worst experiences. We came to celebrate a friend's birthday. We ordered a whole fried chicken and an order of fried rice, NOT a side fried rice. It was clearly explained to the server what we wanted and that 3 people were being served from what we wanted. The server was cooperative. When the food arrived, it was a small order of rice, which we didn't touch and asked why it was only a small cup of rice with a platter full of salad. A second server explained that the salad comes with it to keep us healthy, which was irrelevant. We explained that we would not pay for a full serving price was a side portion. We asked for the manager, they insisted there was NO manager in the building. We finally had our original server come back and explained that we ordered a full order of rice, not a side of rice. Can we have fries instead, if that is the best they were willing to do wuth the ruce portion. The charge was $15 for a full order of rice but they only brought us a side worth of rice, which should have been half the price. The original server agreed to void out the rice (which was untouched), to bring fries instead. Five minutes later a 5'2" round man, posing as the owner, with hands on hips, pacing with agitation, argumentative, confrontational approached the table to bark at us that the order of rice would not be voided, that they served their rice in that way, and we could take it or leave. Behavior which NEVER would have been displayed had we been white patrons. We went on to explain that the objective was to actually TRY the food, NOT get of paying the bill. We further explained that we were first-time patrons and that his behavior as the owner was disgusting. He was close up in our personal space and way too aggressive. Never did he offer a solution, or an apology, but proceeded to tell us what we were GOING to do. So, if you visit here and you are a beautiful person of color, chances are this may be your experience. We were not aggressive, quite reasonable, simply stating what we wanted to partake in and what we were more than willing to pay for once we ordered and enjoyed the cuisine. Needless to say, what was supposed to be a celebration for a friend's birthday was not a great experience. Furthermore, the staff LIED, clearly there WAS supervisory staff available. As people who work in the culinary field, we knew there HAD TO BE...
Read moreFood: we ordered the b and c combos with sweet and spicy half chicken, honey garlic half chicken, 10 cheese powder wings, and 10 honey butter wings. Personally I didn't like the chicken that much. It had great crunch, but the breading was so thick that it reminded me more of a funnel cake than fried chicken. The fact that all the seasonings and sauces were quite sweet as well didn't help either. On our fries, we had truffle oil, cheese powder, and honey butter powder. The truffle oil was acrid; the cheese powder was very hard to taste on fries; and the honey butter seasoning also turned the fries into funnel cake. The mochi cheese balls and mozzarella sticks were a highlight. Despite being mostly cold, they still retained some cheese pull. The onion rings were standard (pretty aight). The cheese sauce for the onion rings is your standard spicy jarred queso from the supermarket, and the marinara sauce for the mozzarella sticks came out colder than the ketchup (... Whaaaaat?).
Service: our server Elvando was very nice and gave us many recommendations, as it was our first time here. However, I didn't like how we were coaxed into giving google reviews to get a free milkis. What I was most discontent with here though, was the long wait time. It took us about 40 minutes to get our food, and it was mostly cold when it came out.
Atmosphere: the vibe here is the main selling point. It's dimly lit and we'll decorated, making your booth feel quite private. If it weren't for the terrible acoustics (I could hear the convos at every other table), I would definitely bring a date here.
Summary: if you're not ethnically Korean, most of the fried chicken (at least what I got) will probably not be to your liking. With very long wait times to boot, I think there are better restaurants...
