As others have said, this restaurant really deserves to be upstairs rather than in the food court. My husband and I went here for our anniversary dinner. Luckily, none of the surrounding food places were open, so the atmosphere was still decent. Our server was wonderful. My husband and I both had sangria to drink--him red and me white. I tasted both and thought they were very good. We got the fried polenta with basil pesto for an appetizer. This was my least favorite of the items we got. Being deep fried and large pieces, they were heavy and a bit weighed down by the oil. The basil pesto was good but not amazing. It wasn't bad, but I don't think I'd get it again. Next, we both had the arugula, pear, and burrata salad. The salads were wonderful and probably my favorite part of the meal. The poached pear had an amazingly rich wine flavor without being soft or mushy. For entrees, my husband got the flounder and shrimp francaise, and I got the lollipop lamb chops. My husband really enjoyed his entree. Unfortunately, it took the chef three times to get the doneness correct on my lamb chops. I ordered them medium rare. The first set came medium well to well. I could tell cutting into them they were tough. I didn't even taste them and called the waiter over (who concurred they were not correct and confirmed he put in the order for medium rare) to bring it back to the kitchen. Looking back, I should have just had them replace the lamb chops and leave the rest. The sides on the replacement were significantly smaller portions and the lamb chops came out very rare (raw, red, cold center). This time I just sent the lamb chops back for them to sear a little more because my husband was almost done eating. The server did comp my entree due to the issues. Once I finally got them prepared properly, the flavor of the chops was wonderful. The smashed potatoes had a great crisp on them and good flavor as well. It would have been a five star experience if not for the issues with my entree. There is no way the chef preparing my lamb chops didn't know they were overdone if I could tell just trying to cut them, and it was a little insulting they sent out the replacement with much smaller portions of the sides and under-done lamb chops. Our server saved the meal with his professionalism and...
Read moreThis is the best unknown spot if you're visiting Borgata. I make it a point to visit at least once whenever I'm staying at the hotel, and I would come more regularly if I were a local. Jesus is an attentive server with excellent wine and food recommendations. Russell prepares outstanding fresh food and undoubtedly the best charcuterie tray in town. You can watch them slice the meat and prepare the cheese. Every dish has been excellent, and I've tried the lasagna, rigatoni versions, bruschetta, and a few other items besides charcuterie. If you like sesame seeds, youâll be hooked on their toasted bread, and the olive oil is top-notch quality. Please take a well-deserved break from the casino floor and ride the escalator to the food hall. They have linen tablecloths and fabulous stemware. Between the service and the food, you will not be...
Read moreAtmosphere is great. A chill vibe, but elegant at the same time. Itâs downstairs in the food court of the Borgata with its own section. Reservations recommended in my opinion. For drinks - We had red sangria and the Treana Cabernet. Both very good. Appetizer - we chose the fried polenta with pesto. It was ok. Deep fried and somewhat lost the taste there. Polenta flavor didnât come through. Wouldâve been better pan fried probably. Dinner - we had the salmon and risotto with pesto. Just ok. Risotto didnât have much flavor. Salmon was a bit overcooked. Also had lobster ravioli in vodka sauce. Couldnât tell that the raviolis had seafood in them. Sauce wasnât very flavorful. All in all would not dine here again which is a shame as it was my husbandâs birthday dinner and came highly recommended by the Borgata Facebook boards. Very nice...
