Yesterday afternoon my friends & I were starving & decided to pick up some food to go. We tried to call the order in & couldn’t because no one would pick up the phone. So my friend drove over there to order our food. We wrote down what we wanted on paper so there was no confusion. She got the food & brought it back. Well, my order was wrong. I went back & tried to explain that it was supposed to be a steak quesadilla, not shredded beef. The cashier girl could barely understand me & kept having to ask this guy what to do. I told her my order was wrong & needed it remade. It took literally 10 minutes to reorder & she had to ask the guy 4 times what to do because she didn’t understand. He had to walk over & show her what to do. She kept saying it was gonna be a new order & l asked if she was going to charge me & said no. The difference was $2 for the new order, so I proceeded to give her $2 & she said it was $10. I said no I should just be paying the difference? The guy came over & was VERY RUDE & said “That’s your friends fault, not hers (the cashier)” & made me pay full price. If I wasn’t so hungry I would have just left but it had been an hour at this point & I was over it. I thought about calling the manager to explain what happened but again, no one answers the phone even though when my friend went to pick up the food, there were 3 servers just sitting there listening to the phone ring. I used to work in the food industry as a server & cashier & that is NOT how you treat a paying customer. I had $20 & left with $.55, paying for food that was wrong & I threw away. I will NEVER go back there again & I will make sure to tell everyone I know not...
Read moreWell I have normally had a decent experience here as far as a college town Mexican place goes, the margaritas are good and sometime the food is decent. That being said I went there tonight and the margarita I had was terrible (more mix and ice than anything, to be honest I pretty sure it was virgin), the service was terrible, and the food was worse than anything. There were seven of us but apparently that is not a problem because two other table of more than seven sat, had drinks, and ate before we even got our food. When we finally got out food it was all cold (an hour and a half after we sat). The waiter said he would fix it, he took my plate and returned about three minutes later, I assume put it in the microwave. When I complained to the girl up front and asked for the manager she said she was the manager and that there was nothing she could do. I didn't feel like arguing so I asked to at least not pay the included gratuity but she said there is no way to take it off.
In conclusion if you go there that is fine, if you are a group of good looking sorority girls or a table of less than six because if not the waiter already knows he is getting a tip so he doesn't care what you think or say. Acapulco's, I have been a loyal customer through my undergrad and graduate degree but after tonight I will convince everyone I know and meet not to go here. Honestly I wish Google had a rating less that "poor-fair" because that would be a better description of what you and your...
Read moreAcapulco's is fair. I've never had anything from there that I wouldn't eat. I like spicy foods. My wife and I went a few days ago and I mentioned to her that I wished the salsa was spicy. The bowl they bring you has no heat at all. So, when the waitress came back around, my wife asked if they had spicy salsa. The waitress gave a funny look and scurried off. Maybe a minute later she comes back with a small bowl of green salsa. Thinking nothing of it, I dipped a great amount on my chip. I just figured it was maybe tomatillo and jalapeno salsa...nothing bad. Oh how wrong I was. As soon as I put it in my mouth, I saw the face of God. A plume of darkness waved over me. I immediately started sweating and nose is running profusely. For about five minutes, I felt as though the icy hand of death laid upon me. Folks, it's hotter than the one chip challenge. You've been warned. The only think that made the experience tough was the group of young ladies at the table beside us. Obviously their parents didn't teach them about inside voices. They were extremely inconsiderate, even to the waitress. The waitress was given subtle hints but, this group of young women was not picking up what the waitress was throwing down. They were using extreme amounts of profanity and singing really foul rap songs. This was not the restaurants fault. These girls just had no home training. It's a good place to go if you like this...
