Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Auburn

First off let me tell you that I have not been to an Applebee’s in about a decade as the quality of food generally isn’t up to my dining standard, let alone the ambience and other aspects of dining there.

However, I went there recently with a date who had requested to go there specifically. Upon entry, we were greeted and seated promptly and our server ran by us in a hurry to tell us he’ll be with us in a few minutes.

I grabbed my menu and started looking. I’ve been starting to eat healthy this last week or so and so I skipped even looking at appetizers And went straight to the main courses. I noticed that the sandwiches and the burgers, which is what I was feeling like having, were astronomically unhealthy… So I opted for the blackened salmon with broccoli and mashed potatoes. My date had the filet mignon and broccoli and mashed potatoes but swapped the mashed potatoes out for green beans. I opted for the same swap on my plate.

The reason I’m writing this review is because I wanted to say that the steak and the salmon were both exceptionally delicious! I was not prepared For the steak at an Applebee’s to be that delicious and that inexpensive at the same time.

The broccoli was delicious as well but the one big downside to this experience was the green beans. These tasted exactly like store-brand green beans from a can that I can get at the grocery store… Barely heated and not flavored in any way at all. Truly awful!

However, again, both steak and the salmon itself was incredible for this type of place… Was very happy! Our server was friendly and nice and we didn’t want to for anything, however he was extremely disheveled and his uniform was dirty and his hands look like he hadn’t washed them in a week and a half… Very offputting. All in all the experience was OK but I’m just docking a star because of...

I had always liked Applebee's, but this time, my experience was far from good. First, they had a wait time with almost half of the restaurant's tables open, and the reason I think it was to missing someone in the kitchen. Which is fine, and that is becoming more common nowadays. Then, they were in the middle of changing shifts, so the previous hostess told the new girl that the 1st party in the waiting list needed to go to this number and the 2nd one to that other table, to which the girl did nothing... After 15 minutes, the ladie came back and just sat us down with a bad attitude. Then, we had to wait for the server to just come and say that he would be right with us. This was after another 10 minutes of us sitting down. Then, another server came, just for the drink order, to which I told her that I would like to olace the whole order because I was not going to wait another half hour for the server to come, so she took the order. The drinks took so long that the short staffed kitchen sent the appetizers at the same time as the drinks... After the server brought the drinks out, we never saw him again until the en when another lady came to us asking if we needed something else, so we asked for the check. After paying, I wanted to get the receipt, and we waited another 20 minutes until we decided to just leave because I couldn't believe that to even bringing a piece of paper someone had to take that long. I do understand that there are a lot of challenges for the service business, but I think you need to keep in mind that if you decide to raise your prices, you are giving your customers what they are paying for.... We had the ribs, and they were overcooked, and that is the reason why I did not give 5 stars...

I have never been so humiliated and belittled before in a restaurant. I ordered the two for twenty because I was going to have leftovers for tomorrow. Jackson my server was new didn't know much about the food and menu. So I ordered the boneless chicken, applebees rib basket and fiesta lime chicken. My boneless chicken was cold and crunchy like they were old or something, I asked Jackson can he change it out for the spinach dip. No problem with a hint of irritation now my riblet's come, they did not look good or taste good only took one bite not having a good experience like I normally do at Applebees. Now I try a bite of the Lime chicken it was dry,I advised the server I was going to leave because the food was not good. He said your not going to pay for your food I said it's all here. He went and got the manager Vicente Martinez who proceeded to tell me I was going to pay for what I ate. I said your KIDDING RIGHT!!!!! NO I'M CALLING THE POLICE HE SAID TO ME.. I said to him why are you acting like an A..Hole. He said leave dont worry about the check after some heated words. I called the police because I was afraid he was going to write down my tag number tell them I skipped out on a TWENTY DOLLAR MEAL!!!!! So I called as well He had the police to write me a no trespassing for the premises. This Man HUMILIATED ME BY DEMANDING I PAY FOR A MEAL I DID NOT EAT AND HAD THE POLICE TREAT ME LIKE A CRIMINAL APPLEBEES YOU SHOUL BE ASHAMED OF WHAT HE DID TO ME AS A CUSTOMER...
