Now it seems to have really suffered. The portions we've ordered to go of appetizers are significantly smaller than they used to be. The Alfredo changed, and is now so peppery that it's all you can taste. The bread is different than it used to be, but still good. Last time we went in on a Friday evening, we thought it would be nice because it wasn't busy. Only 3 tables including us and 2 servers. Unfortunately it took FOREVER to get our food. I am talking about 30 minutes for the appetizer and over an hour for the food. We found out after 20 minutes they were out of part of our appetizer so we got something else. In the meantime 2 people come in for Togo orders. They were each there over 30 minutes as well. Then the waitress comes back to confirm my simple order (that she didn't write down) stating she put it in, just wanted to be sure. Over an hour goes by and we finally get our food, but we didn't want to stay there at this point so we took it all home. The calzone was not cooked all the way through either. The waitress was really nice, and apologized for the wait, but never explained it. We just expected a better experience and food, especially for over 50$ for 2. The calzones are large, and the complimentary bread with garlic butter delicious, but unfortunately that isn't enough. I hope they can bounce back, but I couldn't in good conscience keep the 5 star review up. We won't be back for awhile if at all. And to add, the other person's review was correct, one cook was wearing a mask, the other one not at all. And don't say it's to get a drink because we were there over an hour and he...
Read moreI had a very disappointing birthday lunch experience at Fratelli's. I saw the 4.5 rating and the great food photos so I was excited to try this restaurant. The decor was very dinerish, but I hoped the food would make up for it. It did not. I had the gnocchi and my daughter had Grandma's spaghetti. Although the online gnocchi photo looked creamy and smooth, the reality was gnocchi with thick flour paste sauce overloaded with parmesan cheese giving it a one note pungent flavor. The first few bites were actually okay, but the flavor quickly became too overwhelming. My daughter said the flavor of her spaghetti was good, but the noodles were cooked just enough to bend around the fork and also overloaded with parmesan. Our forks were dirty to the point of still having dried food residue. When I asked for another, the server had to go through several to find two that were of average cleanliness and used his bare hands to wipe over them. I then simply asked for plastic ware. To top all this off, although the server was very polite, he and the rest of the staff (including the cook) were distracted by an young lady (perhaps an off duty employee) that came in while we waited for our food. She hung out in the kitchen doorway socializing with everyone and without washing or sanitizing her hands scooped a cup into the ice bin to get ice to fix herself a drink. The whole experience was highly disappointing and I honestly don't know why we stayed. We couldn't even make a dent in our food. We left hungry and unsatisfied. We ended up going to another restaurant for a meal we could eat. I should have actually read the other reviews before choosing this place for my...
