Heard great things about sessions drinks from partnerships they have with Auburn live and wanted to visit after the Oklahoma game. My friend and I arrive behind another group of 3 college age students who are getting on the waitlist from the hostess. Naturally I do the same and the nice hostess I can tell is struggling to handle the waitlist due to an error on her IPad. She calls the manager which is totally understandable and he then proceeds to select people he knows that are behind us in line to be seated. This did not happen once but twice and we decided the leave after the second time (this happened to the 3 person group in front of us as well). The only reason I am not leaving one star is due to the nice hostess having technical difficulties likely contributing to this issue. I will try to go again in the future as this could have been a one off experience and will edit my review from that experience. However if this is a representation of management then I have no desire to give them my support and will gladly spend my...
Read moreMy friend and I went to check it out tonight and the drinks and atmosphere were amazing!!!! However, the management of Session puts it above all other restaurants and bars downtown.
We (2 college girls) were seated in a booth— similar to being seated in a restaurant. Minutes after being seated, a middle age man welcomed himself into our designated booth. This is an every day occurrence that goes unnoticed any where else downtown. Let. Me. Tell. You. The owner recognized that we were uncomfortable with the situation and nonchalantly corrected it within two minutes—if not less. At the end of the night, he let us exit through the back and offered himself or another employee to walk us home to ensure our safety.
I’m sure the man meant absolutely no harm, but it is refreshing to feel safe and protected in a bar environment. Especially in a college town.
While everything about this place is worthwhile, the attentiveness of the team is unmatched and should not...
Read moreThe waitlist management is abysmal. The door staff are clearly allowing friends / acquaintances in while telling others there is a wait. We joined the waitlist and were told there was a wait. We went elsewhere and waited for the txt that our table was ready. We received a txt telling us they had a table. We then went back to Session only to be told that the only table they had for our party of 4 was at the bar and not together. I expected much better for the second year of this bar in Auburn. I want to support the establishment, but find it far too frustrating to get a table. We walked to Acre’s bar while we waited for our table. Drinks were great, staff was friendly. We won’t ever leave Acre to go to...
