Slid into Auburn, GA late at night...hungry before I checked into my hotel (See review for Microtel - Auburn, GA). Called several pizza places including Papa John's who refused to make a pizza before their advertised closing time. Found Little Italy Pizzeria ๐ฎ๐น ๐.
Called and placed my order for their special pizza.
Walked in to pick up my pizza and the place was packed at nearly midnight - always a pretty good sign of quality. The air was filled with the smell of fresh tomatoes ๐ ๐ - garlic, and sausage (another great sign).
I ordered the pizza ๐ "very well done - not burnt...
When they called my name, as the fragrant aromas from my pizza fresh out of the stonevoven filled the air, I peaked into tje box...
My pizza was cooked to absolute perfection. Brown bubbles of crust and caramelized cheese burst through the generous toppings of pepperoni, sausage, green bell peppers, and, onions...
Even though my hotel was about 10 minutes away (and I stopped for gas on the way back)...
When I arrived back at my hotel, the pizza was still piping hot ๐ฅ and it was absolutely delicious...
Service was top rate as well.
If you are in Auburn, AL - Absolutely do not miss the opportunity to experience and enjoy a pizza from Little Italy Pizza too!
If you don't need a whole pizza, I saw on their menu, they serve slices...
ย ย ย Read morePizza is always hot and made for you!! Pizza by the slice is the way to go, it was delicious!! They add toppings to your slice then cook it. I actually prefer this rather than having like 10 pizzas made that you have to choose from like some places. The staff is super friendly and they are also patient when we had never ordered there before. We went on a Friday night at 10pm in April and it was busy! There are tables of all sizes inside to sit at. They serve Pepsi products. They do give you a water cup if desired. We ordered a slice of pep/sausage and it was so so good!! I also got ranch to dip it and it tasted great and was 55 cents. The individual slices are like 12inches long and 5 inches wide. The crust was fluffy and so delicious, not burnt either. We also got an eggplant 6inch sandwich. I will say that I had to buy the 55cent marinara to put on the sandwich because it just needed something. The eggplant was a bit chewy. But the marinara was delicious, probably homemade. They have an ordering system that just works, where you get a number at the top of your reciept. They call your number on a microphone and you have to show a receipt at the...
ย ย ย Read moreFirst off a slice shouldn't be $5, you're not that good. The pizza is not that great, it's floppy, and the crust isn't cooked well enough. They use cheap processed cheese which then makes the pizza very greasy. Good pizza isn't supposed to be wet, mine had a pool of oil on top, and then the sauce, oh my goodness the sauce. I think it may have been ketchup with some peppers in it, I mean it was so bland and not tasteful at all. BUT! I will say this, it still hit the spot. Sometimes a greasy cheap slice of pizza is exactly what you want, but with prices I expected better quality. It's on par with your local fair pizza, maybe a step above your school lunch pizza. Also the staff weren't very friendly, they weren't rude necessarily, but no one ever smiled, and when my order was called the guy handing it didn't look at me or say anything to me so that bothered me as well. Overall the building itself is cool, and perhaps I just caught em on a bad day. I've only had the pizza, and only once, so maybe they have other options that i would enjoy and maybe a the pizza could be better another...
