This was my first time at Dave and buster’s ever, I WILL NOT be returning to any of them. 1 because it’s just like any other arcade around nowadays, but also twice as expensive. Me and my husband were there for around 2 hours playing games spent over $150 to have fun. A little boy was playing basketball beside me while me and my husband were playing. He backed up about 7 feet to shoot, missed and then it hit me then laughed about it before then apologizing. Then after an hour me and my husband were finished. We had racked up a whopping 4,318 points, so instead of mindlessly purchasing any of the little toys or candy we saw a sign that we could trade our tickets for a appetizer (1800 points), entreé (2400 points), and dessert (1800 points). We did a dessert and appetizer. So immediately upon acquiring these “coupons” we went over to the restaurant to be seated. A man walked over behind the seating host, at this time a large family of white people walked in. He almost didn’t let the girl seat us because he assumed we were with them. Already I’m thinking wow buddy that was profiling for sure I just gave him a stern “no” and confused look, he chuckled like it was okay. We sit down, they aren’t too busy as our waitress had 1 other table. We handed her our “coupons” she asked which appetizer and dessert. We said the pepperoni flatbread and s’mores cheesecake. We had waters to drink, and we waited around 10-15 minutes for the flatbread. Our waitress came around and said our flatbread would be out in just a minute, continued over to the seating host stand to gossip as her manager came about 2 minutes later to bring us our flatbread. It took me a while to get her attention when the flatbread came out, I asked for a side of ranch, which was about the size of any small Togo side of ranch in the little plastic containers. She tried to joke with me at first when I asked for ranch telling me “no” I was like “yes” then she said “no” again and I said “why” she said “I’m just kidding you’re too pretty to say no to” like you working hard for that tip. Later she brought the cheesecake, me and my husband spent about 10-15 minutes eating it then waited for her to come back for 5-10 extra. She never came back until we got up to leave bc we already paid and gave her our “coupons”. I waived at her on the way out and everything. Me and my husband headed out the door. We made it 10 feet out the door before the seating host and our waitress ran out the door after us yelling “hey guys, I have to check yall out” there was a couple walking past us saying “they tried to dine and dash” that embarrassed the he’ll out of me when we didn’t try or we would’ve been running out, not casually walking, I’ve never even thought about doing that. We go back in and I say “what do we have to pay for I gave you the “coupons” she said “ that’s cool, I still have to get my manager to verify they’re valid and you got a side of ranch so I have to charge you for that” so she walked back there did her thing we had already been eating for an hour at this point and it took her about 5 more to go get “verified”. She came back and explained people have tried to reuse coupons. I told her “that’s cool. We just came from the other side of the place after we got them”. It was $3.88 for that side of ranch which is crazy, but her tip went out the door and the embarrassment was just crazy. The situation could’ve been handled differently. And the manager never came over after we were...
Read moreMy SO has never been to D&B and I’ve only been to one D&B before and it was in Nashville in 2016, so it’s been a while since I’ve been to one. We thought it would be a fun date day, but the experience was definitely lacking. I’ve worked as a server before and I understand how rough it can be some days, but the experience we had was absolutely unacceptable. The hostess halfheartedly greeted us with “hi” when we walked in. Nothing else. I asked if we could get a table for two, please. She didn’t say anything, did something on the tablet, led us to our table, sat the menus and silverware down and left. Not another word. Our server was friendly at first glance, but it pretty much ended there. When she brought our drinks out, she sat them down, didn’t say anything and went to take another tables order. She went to put it in and then we didn’t see her for about ten minutes. She finally came back and we put our order for an app and two entrees in. I looked around and all of the servers, minus two, were hanging out at the back of the restaurant at a counter. They were leaning, chatting and using their cell phones in full view of the customers. The restaurant wasn’t full, but they did all have tables that were being ignored. One literally had her head in her hand and just looked bored. A different server brought us our appetizer and the chef brought us our meals. She was the friendliest and most engaging cook person that assisted us that day. Another 10 minutes or more passed and our server came to check if everything was okay. About 15-20 minutes later, so asked if we needed boxes. When we said no, she asked if we wanted the check. I said yes and before I could ask if they do military discount, she walked off. Not one time did she attempt to refill our empty glasses. When she brought the check, we asked if they do military discount and she smirked, crumpled up the check in her hand and walked off without she brought it back, with the discount applied. Also, at no point did she mention the play system, cards or anything. So, when I asked how we get one (remember, it’s been 7 years since I’ve been to Dave and busters and a lot has changed since then), she said “you could’ve added it to your check or you can get it from the kiosk” as we were paying. Cool… I guess we’ll get it from the kiosk. We had a great time in the arcade and the arcade staff was friendly and upbeat. The only reason I’m giving two stars is for the super sweet and friendly chef and the two servers who were active and engaging with their customers. They were constantly on the floor, checking on their tables, refilling drinks, etc. I didn’t catch their names, unfortunately, but they were STELLAR. I wish I could say the same...
Read moreI went online several days in advance of going to D&B to make a reservation for 8/27 at 3pm. I arrived at D&B at about 2:50. When I approached the front desk to speak to a hostess, there were 3 young ladies studying one tablet. They casually looked up and I spoke and told them that I had reservations. After getting my last name, I was told it would be 30 minutes before I could be seated and I would be notified via my cell when our table was ready. The 3 lowered their heads to view the tablet. I asked how I would get the game cards. One pointed to her left, my right as the direction to pay for game cards. I purchased 5 game cards and came back to the front. I observed 3 tables each capable of accommodating 4 people. I went to occupy the tables when I was told by a completely different person that I could only have a table if I was escorted by D&B staff. So I go back to the front and ask them what is the purpose of making a reservation if I would be placed on the list of first come, first served basis. I asked to speak to a manager when he was pointed out. He stopped at the podium and I asked if I could speak to off to side. One of the 3 on the 1 tablet was whispering in his ear and as he walked over to me one of the three on the tablet blurts out that she needs a drink and motions her head in my direction and rolling her eyes. I am explaining the situation to the manager and he believes his role is to defend his staff and to continuously tell me, “I understand and I know.” When actually you don’t know and you can’t understand because you are not in my situation. I don’t want to hear that. I made a reservation and you KNEW what time I was arriving. I do not care that Saturdays are your busiest day. As a manager of D&B, you are responsible for handling your staff and the flow of customers within your establishment. Part of controlling the flow includes accommodating KNOWN reservations. After some back and forth, miraculously a set of tables/booth seating becomes available. Clearly based on some of reviews that I have read, the wait times and staffing concerns have yet to be resolved. I do know that there should be at least two separate list………a “reserved” and a “walk-ins” list. Please manage your resources!!! Also, the little hostess with the attitude that escorted us to our table and tossed the menus and our folded napkins with silverware on the table and abruptly turned and once again rolled her eyes at us, should probably be cleaning tables and not be at the front as the customer’s first introduction of what D&B...
