2022-07: Using GrubHub, I ordered a Taco Salad Shell with steak, cilantro rice, black beans, and several fresh ingredients, as well as a Sweet Tea with lemon. Everything was prepared correctly and the lemons weren't forgotten, put in a 2 oz. cup with a lid. The Taco Salad Shell had the perfect amount of each ingredient in relation to each other, but I do wish the overall volume of ingredients had been a little more "giving". When you go to Diablo's in person, you'll get more quantity of ingredients. Today, the ingredients filled most of the bowl with a little room to spare. I also thought chips and salsa came with your meal, but I did not receive any. Nonetheless, the food was hot, fresh, and delicious.
2020: It's a fairly new restaurant at this location, so I wasn't surprised that there may have been a little hiccup or two. The only issue I ran into was they were experiencing an issue with being able to log onto their computer systems. While I was still able to pay with my debit card, I wasn't able to get a receipt. However, the lady working at the register was very communicative during my time in the restaurant by coming to my table a few times and letting me know the progress of the situation. While I wasn't able to get a receipt by the time I left, I'm overall happy with my experience. The place itself was clean and well staffed. The food was fresh and delicious. The staff was pleasant and informative (by letting me know if a particular topping cost a little extra, etc.). I would return to this location and wouldn't deter anyone else from...
Read moreI used to love this place. But things have changed for the worse: 1: Ranch: The chipotle ranch use to be free now they started charging for a small side cup of ranch(even if you bought a meal). Chips: You used to get a full scoop of chips with every meal, now you get 10-15 chips. They used to give refills on the chips, now you have to pay $1.25 for a small bag of chips. Portions: Their portions used to be huge, I used to eat here and be filled for the rest of the day, now I eat there and don’t even feel full because they are giving decreased portions Prices: Their chicken burritos/bowls used to be $8.55 now they are $10.95, and this doesn’t even include a drink. Thats a 28% increase in the span of 3 years.
I genuinely used to love this place and my family and friends joked about how often I ate at diablos (literally like multiple times a week) and even took me there on special occasions for me. Unfortunately, I will be avoiding diablos from now on. It’s not the prices, I know inflation is a thing they can’t control and I have been blessed to be able to afford even the current prices on a regular basis, its the charging for every little thing, charging for the chips, charging for the sauce, charging for the tortilla, and most importantly reducing the portions! I still wish diablos the best since they are a local small business providing fresh and healthy meals. Please reconsider your portions and the charging for chip refills and I will be more than happy to come back to my...
Read moreI am truly an understanding person. I’m not rude or one who likes to be difficult. I went into Diablo’s about 9:10, knowing they close at 9:30. (I wasn’t the only customer). They seemed frustrated that I walked in, but I thought nothing of it. When I ordered, the portion size was very slim. And my bowl is very simple. Rice, beans, meat and cheese. I asked for an extra scoop of rice bc it was barely covering the bottom of the bowl and two scoops of both beans. She said, I will have to charge you bc we have to be able to close the lid. I have the most basic bowl. I got charged for extra rice and beans when she had no problem what so ever closing the top. I don’t feel like that equates to an extra charge of a side order. If that’s the case I should have got it in a side container and added it myself and it would have been more. I just felt like I was an inconvenience to the staff and not a customer and I was going to pay for it. It was more like retaliation than a service. I’m very easy going, but I don’t like the way this experience made me feel. Bottom line, don’t go to this restaurant late. You might rather go someplace else...
