I am sitting in the restaurant right now and there are a slew of thing that are wrong. 1) I ordered additional zucchini on top of my entree and the chef completely messed the order up. The chef then proceeded to debate with me about my order and say a mistake wasn’t made when it was. How do I know? Because another customer at our table requested no vegetables and received some (mine). I called the server over and she told me all she could do was to take the price of the zucchini off but that doesn’t solve the problem of what it is I want. I ended up having to request the manager and she rectified the situation. 2) The shrimp was severely undercooked along with all the food being completely under seasoned. The broccoli was damn near still raw. I no longer even want my food with the amount of errors that piled up. This is the worst service I have ever received at this restaurant and I’ve been coming to this one and others in different cities for years. Due to the negligence of the server and the chef, they will not be receiving a tip from me due to me even having to ask for a manager to ask for food I already asked for when the server could have easily handled and rectified my issue. I, nor my family, will be back. It’s a shame that the originator, Miyabi’s, is being outclassed by Miyako’s, a cheaper and tastier alternative. My business and money will be spent there. I truly hope you all train your staff, new or old, on better service. I am a believe that the customer isn’t always right but at least meet the customer half way.
I will also add that the table as dirty, there was still rice from the previous party on the flattop grill, napkins dirty. Just an overall terrible experience. They’ve taken stuff off the menu like lobster and other things but didn’t adjust the prices. Not worth the hype or the money.
Let me also mention, that we had our 2 year old son in a high chair, asked for a plate for him and never...
Read moreThis Review is for customer service because I was not able to make it to the food. I was a member of a large group that visited on May 25, 2016 for a graduation ceremony. Unfortunately, the reservation was botched first, then this was followed by a long wait which resulted with part of the party being separated and seated in another part of the restaurant. The final straw to break the camel's back came with customer service. When the young woman attendee who was assigned to us botched it!!! She left us to attend a new group of customers that came in after us. Okay, now I am not ignorant, I am a very learned older woman who was amazed at the audacity of the young woman who I believe felt the tips would probably be better coming from a group of business men rather than from our group of family members. (Probably correct, Lol) But that is moot!!! I was upset because we were customers who were seated first, so I ask why?
Come on Miyabi Kyoto Japanese Steak House Manager, Please Correct This: All your customers matter!!! I left after telling the young lady that she was wrong, point, blank, period! I am not going to pay you to mistreat me, I do not care if the food may have been good. I left because again, again, and one more time emphasized: All customers should be treated with respect simply for choosing to come to your restaurant!!! Please work on that when training your staff!!! And Please also work on your reservation system, my family had a reservation!! In fact, my sisters had two reservations... The wait was atrocious, if you cannot accommodate large groups say that!!! I am very unhappy so I am saying it Loud on Yelp!!! And on...
Read moreI've always liked the Miyabi Kyoto chain. It's a good restaurant with excellent quality food. However, at this location the service was horrendous. I don't know if this was a one-off experience, however the server took over 15 minutes from the time we placed drink orders to even get us drinks back. This was the beginning of several issues with the server and his service that night. We mentioned several times we were there for a birthday party and wanted to do the photo and cupcake experience. Which we were charged for both. Both however they never took a photo and we had to request the cupcake five times before us. The third server acknowledged that we had asked for it and went and got the only one they had and it had no frosting. This was brought up to the manager prior to the last server and we informed him of the poor service for the night when he decided he was just going to walk off and not even acknowledge that there were any issues. Our cook and food were amazing. He was very entertaining and cooked the food perfectly and is the only reason that this gets anything above a one star review. The wait time was as expected. As expected we didn't have a reservation and it took about 45 minutes for a party of nine to get a table. However, they did call us up after around 15 to 20 minutes to tell us a table was ready because they put the wrong number in to someone else's name and then we were told that they would get one for us immediately but ended up waiting the full-time. Anyways. I love the Miyabi chain, but this restaurant would not be a recommendation for me by any means based on this...
