Panda Express — Restaurant in Augusta

Most disappointing meal received from a Panda Express!! I do not know if it is a location thing, or if company has made changes, idk! My family & I have eaten Panda Express all over ... many different locations, different states and cities, this one is the most disappointing one when comes to food quality. Food quality is not only the problem, but the quantity is also poor as well.

Issue 1. You do NOT get your money's worth, not the usual Panda Express portions used to. Same $$, but less product.

Issue 2. Rice was not fresh. I am not even sure what type of rice it is, but it was definitely old and had strange texture to it. It had a brown rice texture vs. steamed white rice you generally get with Chinese foods. Maybe they've downgraded the quality type of rice used ... definitely was not good. My children eat & looove white steamed rice, and they turned their noses up at it and did not eat it, they too noticed it is not the same rice they're use to.

Issue 3. Super greens were more raw veggies vs. a cooked veggie. I love raw kale, broccoli and cabbage, but when I order it to be a cooked item ... I'd preferred to receive it as a cooked food product. It was more like it was thrown in pan just enough to warm it up (which it was not even that) and then taken out. Raw/Hard vs. sauteed cooked together.

Issue 4. Honey Walnut Shrimp was old & soggy.

Issue 5. Crispy Almond Chicken was small dried-up pieces.

Issue 6. Chow Mein was hard dried-up noodles, not edible.

Issue 7. The fried rice ... I am not sure what it was, but definitely was not friend rice. It was same hard rice as the steamed rice received with slash of soy sauce on it, no veggies ... nothing.

I do not know if Panda Express is trying to cut corners, or if this location is being poorly managed. Nonetheless, the food received from this location is less than what my family has come to love about Panda Express food. We will not be returning to this location, and the next time we order from one of the many food delivery companies ... we will just order from a local Chinese restaurant instead of this chain...

Chicken Teriyaki was good. Rice was bland until I got Teriyaki sauce put on it. The mixed greens were extremely bland. I was so very disappointed because my daughter raved about the place. She talked me into it. The sweet tea was watered down. I had to switch it out. I brought home the veggies to add some seasonings. They were nice and bright green and I couldn't wait to try them! You can imagine my disappointment when I tasted them. No, I would not return. No, I would not recommend them to others either. They need to have someone taste what they are serving to people. My daughter says the one in Atlanta that she goes to is very good. So, I guess it is just this establishment. Too bad I was really looking forward to it! I thought they had one in Hawaii when I lived there. It was Panda something? Oh well...Live and learn...She was disappointed as well! And embarrassed for talking me into it. Especially when there are so many choices in Augusta! Never again. Don't waste your time or money. Also something in it that made me abit sick afterwards. Infact, we both took Imodium when we got to my house. So maybe we had an allergic reaction...

Now, before I start my long review I need you to join the Rewards program because it pretty much pays for itself and you'll save money every single time. I've visited this location as well as the one located in Mullins Colony. The level of customer service at both locations hasn't changed any. Every once in a while you might run into an issue like the ice machine being down that is because they are cleaning it possible build up. Many restaurants will continue to serve their customers knowing there is build up that is a lesson for another day!

I'm not sure how Panda Express prepares the Orange Chicken to taste so good but I understand why it is a signature dish. I had a bite of the Orange Chicken and needless to say the plate was gone before I could even take a picture. Honestly, I wanted to get in my SUV and go back to give the workers a hug. I'm a picky eater and ecstatic I have another place I can add to my list of restaurants. Thank you for amazing servers #2418 especially Jozyln! I will be back soon because the rewards program gave me a free small A La Carte Entree when I purchase another...
