Having seen 4 movies a month for the last 5 months, my viewing times have ranged from 1:30 pm to 9:30 pm. The Regal Theatre has always been clean, well air-conditioned, with concession registers running. Snack and food items are made-to-order while you wait; and personnel do attempt to persuade you to buy candy......However, this is salesmanship and to be expected. I've never had a negative experience other than getting sick once and the management gave me a later ticket at no cost. People enjoy this theatre and I like the fact that so many attendees enjoy laughing together when appropriate.....Highly recommended, purchase your ticket before the viewing time so you'll have time to purchase your popcorn or snack (if attending a later viewing). In the afternoon the lines are very manageable but between 8 - 11 pm on a Friday or Saturday you may have to wait a bit. The staff are very cordial, patient with people and knowledgeable of the films. I agree with other reviewers a small popcorn could be cheaper than $6.50. However, the staff really have the attendees’ experience at heart. Once I inquired as to the dates of two movies first appearance at the theatre and a staff member printed for me a two page sheet with the dates highlighted. Also, having ordered onion rings one evening I was told to wait about 8-10 minutes while they cooked, 20 minutes later the manager walked by and I asked if I'd still make the movie time - He stated "Yes" and came out with a double helping for my extra wait time----I'm really impressed that everyone seems to have in mind the best interest of their clientele. At night, there is usually one or two squad cars parked in the front center of the theatre parking lot in-between the orange cones ---- YOU ARE SAFE THERE! I've never heard or seen anything inappropriate in the behaviors of those attending or outside the theatre. Good Augusta People!!! GREAT...
Read moreAn unprofessional experience I had at a Regal Cinemas movie theatre in Augusta, GA.
I went to see a movie with my husband to see Equalizer and we took the kids to allow them to see the new Barbie movie at the Regal Cinemas in Augusta, GA tonight. Both movies started at approximately 630 pm, but we had to wait in the lobby because the Barbie movie was a few minutes longer. My husband and I decided that we would wait at the bar and perhaps get a drink while we waited for the kids to be finished. We sat at the bar for about ten minutes, and no one seemed to be working the bar, so we continued to patiently wait. A couple walked up, and we addressed the couple by saying, "We don't think that the bar is open because we have been sitting here for 10 minutes and no one has come to ask for our order." Not 30 seconds after I got the statement out of my mouth, the doors behind the bar open and out comes two bartenders asking the other couple if they needed anything. Never asking my husband or myself if we wanted to order or even addressing us by saying, "We will be right with you." We were simply ignored. We both left the bar and went to the register to ask where the manager was and addressed our experience with him. He basically acknowledged that he had in fact seen us waiting at the bar himself and that he had no idea why the bartender staff would have ignored our presence. We left the theatre feeling angry and disappointed. It was the worst movie experience I ever had and I felt compelled to inform someone one other than social media, about how disrespected and rudely we were treated by the staff at the bar. Customer service is a skill that not everyone is good at performing, but the manager was no better help in this situation than the bartenders who ignored us. We essentially were told, "Thanks for letting us know."
Disappointed and...
Read moreI have to say, I'm really disappointed. I'm a lifelong patron to Regal and I've said before and I'll say it again. The theatre would benefit by having ushers present in the theatres, even if it's only for a few minutes. More about that later.
You know, I don't really blame the movie theatre. We spent 20 bucks on 2 tickets, 50 dollars for food, for a grand total of 70 to wait on food, smell the perfume of someone's weed, and to have some really rude patrons sit behind us.
I don't blame the theatre, but this experience sucked and honestly I just don't want to go back. I'm sure if anyone else went they could have a good time. Maybe in time I'll come to trust regal again. There's more room at riverwatch, AND you don't have to worry about someone kicking your seat and tapping you on your neck and shoulder with their...
