Red Crab - Juicy Seafood — Restaurant in Augusta

Came in with my family on a Tuesday evening around 7pm. We were seated immediately and there was hardly anyone else there eating (most people were hanging out at the bar). We had a waitress team of two young ladies, one appeared to be new and training. Everyone was very polite and attentive, our food was good and service was FAST! We tried the crab fries, the Buffalo lemon pepper wings, chicken tender basket and then I got a pound of crab legs. I enjoyed everything and it was pipping hot. Music was not offensive as stated in previous comments. There was a good mixture of R&B and gospel music playing the night we came in, it wasn’t loud or overbearing. Now that we got all that out the way, that bartender, she had a really short haircut. Sis can make a drink! We said we would come back to Red Crab JUST for the drinks. I had a liquid marijuana and a ‘under the sea’ and the person I was with had a Long Island and a ‘red light special’. Their signature drinks are ON POINT and affordable if you ask me. Do note on the back of the menu, there is a disclaimer stating on Fridays and Saturdays after 4:45pm checking out they will add an automatic 10% gratuity to your bill no matter the size of table. I can only assume this is due to people not tipping. TIP YOUR SERVERS OR STAY...

Food was good and service was great up until we were getting rushed out at 10:45… they close at 11 and while we were being rushed we still left before 11. Specifically we left at 10:56. Some guy specifically called us out and said “come on table five yall need to go” and kept talking to his co workers i believe loudly saying we need to hurry and just talking about us. We all were still eating and when i took off my gloves to see what time it was… they technically were still open.. he kept badgering us but from afar, talking loudly abt us w his coworkers. Very unprofessional. They also started mopping at like 10:30 which is fine i get trynna get out of there but mopping right in front of our table? to the point where im now waiting on them to finish mopping at my feet so i could leave. anyways our server was great and attentive, she didn’t say her name. i don’t know who the guy was who was speaking on us because he wasn’t in uniform but he obviously does something there because he said all of this to the coworkers and why would a customer say any of the things he did. Don’t rush your customers out. Especially when yall aren’t even closed. You wouldn’t want anyone...

I ordered a chicken tenders basket, which came with a choice of fries (regular, sweet potato, seasoned, or crab fries - crab meat and a sauce added to regular fries). I chose the regular fries and enjoyed how crisp the fries and tenders were, and neither of the items were too salty. The water didn't taste so great - not sure that lemon would've been much help. After the single sip of water, I stuck to drinking my soda. The atmosphere was laid-back and the service was friendly. Guests were allowed to sign the walls of the establishment, which gave it a friendly, community feel... literally a place where "everybody knows your name" (Any other folks remember the theme for the TV show "Cheers"? 😂). They played throwback music from the 90's while we visited, so that helped spark some memories and good conversation at the table. This establishment's specialty is seafood (mussels - both green and black, clams, crab, crab legs, lobster, shrimp, scallops), of which I'm not a fan, however, I'd return here for another...
