Sam's was my first job ever. When I worked there 19 years ago it was run well. Staff was friendly and the food was always quick and consistent. Went in to pick up lunch yesterday and was one of the only people in there. Placed my order and stepped aside as the place got a little busier. Over a half hour later I watched everyone who came after me leave with their food and still hadn't gotten mine. When I did receive it there was a sandwich missing. Not sure how it didn't make it on the check since the kid asked what size and everything. Not one apology from the kid, shift leader, or manager. No one offered me a drink while I waited even longer which is a courtesy every restaurant I've ever managed has done. When I finally get it still no apology and this is after witnessing the shift leader laughing with the kid about messing up the order. Get the food home and the sandwiches were a mess. Everything thrown in without a care. The kids chicken was inedible and we threw it away. All in all I'll say that the new owner was our general manager when I was there and he's not doing a good job as owner. His staff sucks and the place reflects this. The sandwiches I grew up with no longer hold that same meaning. I'll be going elsewhere...
Read moreI came in maybe 15 minutes to 9pm. Just me and a friend wanting to get something real quick. After reading the menu online I was sad to see that an Italian restaurant didn't serve Chicken Aldredo. They had Zeti alfredo but I ain't about that life. Anyways I got some spaghetti and my friend got a pizza. The menu sizes for pizza were pint, quart, and bucket which was odd. I don't know what size I got but I paid about $7. It came with a small salad, and by small I mean the thing was small. Handfull of lettuce, a couple tomato chunks, some onion slivers, and a slice of green bell pepper. With some weird dressing. It was alright. It also came with some garlic bread which seemed more like the top half of a sub bun with some garlicky-butter stuff on the top. And the spaghetti with a big meatball on it. The meatball was alright, but I can see why people thought it was mostly bread. The spaghetti was decent and I liked the sauce. The plate was a bit too small though as I couldn't mix the sauce with the pasta like a civilized human being. Salad 2/5. Garlix bread 1.8/5 and spaghetti gets a 3/5. Dennys is right next door so you're better off going there and getting a delicious milkshake....
Read moreI don't normally give five stars across the board and normally service probably isn't always consistent but for this particular experience I literally had nothing to complain about.
Food was great. I got a bucket of spaghetti with meatballs and sauce with a bag of bread and a two liter of pepsi. The spaghetti is thin spaghetti which is what I like, the sauce is amazing, the bread is pretty good and the order came with a two liter of soda. The price was $28.00 for all that included. It was on special.
Service was good. Friendly staff on. Monica the boss on duty was a genuinely nice person, told her what I wanted and she pointed out the deal on spaghetti which saved me money. Went out of her way to be kind, very good service.
Atmosphere was fine. We went for lunch so it wasn't super busy, we sat in the dining room which was empty, probably a slow hour but that's okay because it was relaxing and peaceful and enjoyed our food. The dining room was very clean and stocked. The bathroom was exceptionally clean too. No complaints. Parking is usually easy to get into. Plenty of parking spots.
It's not as expensive as other...
