This used to be my walkable lunch spot for Indian food, but the ownership must have changed recently. They should not label themselves as Indian restaurant anymore. Although the menu stayed largely the same, things taste plain and are no longer spiced the same way. One of the two side salad (potato?) had a burned taste, and the other one is just adding cilantro in a typical American cucumber salad. The mango lassi is slightly sour. I am not qualified to judge what authentic Indian food should be. But the food here now does not meet the expectation of American Indian food for me. Will not return even for just regular lunch let alone when feeling like Indian food. So sad that I lost my Indian spot!

Yum. I am not a picky eater, I am a particular eater. I like quality and flavor. Chai & Chai covered those. The flavor was wonderful and not too spicy (I do love spice). The ingredients are fresh and quality. The cafeteria style service makes for a quicker visit. Our group had the Chicken Shawarma on pita, Turkish Gyro on pita, and the Chicken Tikka Masala and a Samosa. They were all equally tasty, though I would choose rice next time just for convenience sake. The location is walkable if visiting someone at Anschutz Hospiral.

If you’re unsure, trust me when I tell you this is a must-try. I’ve been going to Chai & Chai on campus for my lunch breaks over the last few years and they’ve never missed. The Turkey gyroz (lamb + beef) with rice (pictured) and their small chai are delicious! You can taste the freshness. Ask them for the hot sauce too, it’s a great combo. Staff is always kind and the restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. I can’t recommend this place enough!

UPDATE SEPT 2021 My initial review from a few years ago is below. Unfortunately, I think that this restaurant must have been sold because the great , fast, friendly old team is completely gone now and the food and service became terrible overnight. The sides changed, the staff is all different, and most of the machines are turned off at lunchtime now. It went from great service and great food to lousy service and mediocre lunch which is unfortunate.

This place is very legit! The Gyro Platter and Chicken Shawarma are excellent. I like the falafel sandwich too because it really has some spicy heat to it. They use a white sauce and Sriracha which works quite well. Always great friendly and fast service.

Because this is a Hospital Medical Campus, they are only open Monday through Friday for lunch and early...

Used to love this place! Not so much anymore! Last two times have been.....not great. (Don't feel the need to get into all the details but nevertheless......Never again! Something is really off. I feel they may have have lost a few really good employees recently? More than one or two. People with friendly smiles and a geniune disposition of really wanting to be there and have customers frequent! They really went the extra mile. Last month or so it feels like they cut every corner possible. They must be really short handed because we felt invisible and they just didn't have time for us. Food was still good but the list goes on and on with lackluster service. Two extremely not fun experiences! Time to move on! Thanks...
