Overall, I was satisfied with my experience at Dragon Boat Asian Cuisine. I’m sharing my honest feedback in the spirit of helping the team fine-tune their offerings and truly excel—especially for diners like me who appreciate the details. Highlights: The vegetable lo mein was outstanding—easily the best I’ve had since moving to Aurora. Perfectly seasoned, fresh veggies, and a great texture to the noodles. That dish alone will definitely bring me back. The sweet and sour sauce also stood out: balanced, not overly red or artificial, and with just the right consistency—not too runny, not too thick. The wonton soup was solid—warm, comforting, and well-executed. Room for Improvement: The sweet and sour chicken, while flavorful, was way too hard—almost “bulletproof,” for lack of a better word. The heavy batter made it tough to enjoy. I’ve been chasing that lighter, crispier version I used to get at Hunan City in Westminster back in the early 2000s, and I haven’t found a match yet. The egg rolls had a promising crispy exterior, but the inside was a bit mushy, which threw off the overall texture. Not the worst I’ve had by any means, but I’d love to see more consistency here. Final Thoughts: Dragon Boat is on the right track. With a few adjustments—particularly to texture and battering on some items—they could really shine in Aurora’s Chinese food scene. I’ll definitely be back for the lo mein and to try more...
Read moreI just went there today, hoping to again finally enjoy their all you can eat sushi. Nope. No signs were up to say that they weren't offering this service despite being on the front window, door, and menu. Ok, no worries. I ordered from their regular menu. I ordered Cashew Chicken and crabmeat cheese wontons. The wontons were so chewy, they were hard to eat. I didn't even finish them. They also changed the recipe for the cashew chicken from what they used to serve. Not a good change in my opinion. They used to use a white/creamy sauce and now it's a soy sauce. It added too much saltiness to the dish that used to not be there. The chicken also seemed to be some flat slices of chicken instead of the chunks of chicken they used to serve. Not visually appealing.
I was hoping their dine-in experience would have changed for the better given their break from allowing customers to eat in their restaurant. I am completely disheartened from this experience. I was a customer of over 20 years, and would rave about them to friends and family. I won't be raving about them anymore after this experience, and probably won't...
Read moreI walked in and was immediately greeted. This place is huge and spacious. It is very clean and has lots of seating to go and dine in. I ordered a sesame chicken combo plate. That comes with soup, egg roll, wonton, and an entree.
The order process was quick, and the food was piping hot. It was so fresh I burned my mouth, but that was a good thing. It smelled so good I didn't wait for it to cool off.
The sesame chicken was crispy, tangy, and sweet. The fried rice was tender and full of flavor. The egg roll was crispy and was even better with their sweet and sour sauce. Wonton was okay, but I'll try the crab meat wonton next time.
I had the mango ice cream. It was pretty and yummy. I wasn't sure I could eat the peel because I thought it was gelatin, but I asked, and it wasn't gelatin but some type of flour. It was sticky and reminded me of gummy bears.
I'll definitely be back more than likely for lunch. This was a great place to eat, especially after an evening meeting. The parking lot was brightly lit and felt safe....
