Brought the wife here for a quick little local date. We decided to sit at the bar. The atmosphere in this place is awesome! The ocean scene made us feel like we were transported to Santa Cruz CA. You can smell all the delicious sea food dishes in the air! the restaurant staff were busy hustling dishes to patrons tables and, right off the back! We noticed the size of plates being brought out....They were huge!! Mountains of crab legs huge portions of side dishes! We both looked at each other and said. Next time we are bringing the kids!! This time tho we are just on a quick little local date. Our bartender was qreat! She was so friendly and talkative. She recommended the house special they make for our drink. We ordered cocktail de camarones. (probably didn't spell that right! ) but it's a shrimp dish made with clamato or v8 juIce, avacodo and cucumber. It's delicious! First our drinks come and they were plentiful they came in designer pint size glasses. Seems like everything is big portion sizes here. Then our shrimp dish comes and ohhh man!! I have to tell ya! Way over 20 shrimp with this dish!! Huge pieces of cucumber and avocado! fried flour and corn tortilla chips, crackers! A real feast for just an appetizer!! So, in closing I highly recommend this place!! Doesn't matter if you are here for a quick little date like we were or, if you are bringing the whole family like we plan to next visit! This place has what it takes to satisfy both sides! you get your...
Read moreMy husband and I went to El Pelicano this past Saturday and we had one of the most fun nights ever, and we have been together for 16 years. Let's first start off with the food. We had tacos and ceviche, and several different mixed drinks. The ceviche was so fresh, and the tacos had a sauce in them that made it the best tacos I have ever eaten. They also give quite generous portions which is great! Then the live music started. The first gentleman singer was named Vicente. He had an amazing voice and really made everyone in the audience feel like they were a part of the show. We really actually were a part of the show as I was able to get up on stage with him and sing in Spanish. We had sombreros on, and there was dancing. He walked around the whole restaurant to make sure everyone was a part of the act. Then Paquita came on after him. Let me tell you, Paquita is where it is at! She has an amazing voice and her star presence is amazing. She got my husband up on stage, and even though he did not understand what she said specifically, he was dancing and having so much fun. This was an amazing experience all around. If you have never come to this restaurant before you're really missing out. Get on the phone and get a reservation. You WILL need reservations, as this place was full without an empty seat in the house. I can't wait...

Getting there no one was there to greet us we waited a while ( place was somewhat empty). Once the waiter came say us down and gave us the menu she said she give us a few to see what we wanted.... came to ask about what we wanted to drink, the soda was flat (the soda machine doesn't work she said) the fresh drinks where warm with just 4 ice cubes. We wanted a appetizer and they didnt have it... so we just decided to order our meals. Once the bill came it was outrageous !!! 140.16
