I've never experienced the type of unprofessionalism I received at this restaurant.
Before even going to this restaurant I called regarding a refund over terrible fries and an awful tasting Dr Pepper a crew member on the team stated "bring in the receipt and we will take care of it". Upon arrival I spoke with the same crew member and she immediately said to the manager this guy wants a refund he has his receipt and said his food was bad the manager came over looked at the receipt and then said one moment let me check if you are in the refund book. She went to the back and came back and said sorry your not in the book, I than asked to speak with the General Manager which happened to be at the store she came out and asked the same thing, I told her how I called ahead and the crew member I spoke with nodded in agreement that they said they would give me the refund.
The General Manager whoever she was at this point looked at her employee frustratingly and then turned to me and stated that McDonald's refund policy requires that I get a refund on the day of the issue and since it's two days after I am no longer able to receive the refund.
By this point I was pretty infuriated and asked the General Manager to say that on camera so I can show McDonalds corporate the lie she just tried to tell me. Immediately she said if I record then she will call the police upon starting the recording she leaves to the office presumably to call the police and ignoring me completely, while another crew member of the McDonalds says "your not allowed to record" while other crew members mocked me and joked around.
I was shocked at the unprofessional behavior I witnessed along with the fact that I was told I am not allowed to record it's crazy that they don't know what the 1st Amendment is.
Either way after causing quite a scene I began to walk out the door seeing that the General Manager was by far the most unprofessional I've ever met and was going to continue to hide in her office for the night I decided to leave that's when the other manager bolted from behind the counter yelling "you think just because you record your going to get a refund!" That's when the general manager bolted out of her office and into the lobby just to stop this manager from biting my head off. What should've been a simple refund turned into an absolute headache that should have never happened.
I contacted corporate McDonalds only to be told that this restaurant is franchised and that it is owned by someone else but they have passed along my concerns to the owner. I have never received a reply from the owner and had to obtain a refund through the BBB.
This probably wouldn't of happened if the managers weren't discriminatory and if the McDonalds crew was...
Read moreSecond in line at the drive through, person in front of us waits at the speaker for 8 minutes (we timed it). The excuse from the employee? Couldn't hear the beep. Never mind the fact that they'd been taking orders from the other lane (at least 3 cars moved from that lane). When the employee argued with my husband about our order instead of just adding what we requested (Who does that?) he told her she was terrible at her job and we pulled forward to speak to a manager. The employee's friend pretended to be the manager and swore at me repeatedly, (while the person who was failing to take the order recorded us,) before the real manager came over and started apologizing.
You'd think that would be the end right? Nope. The two women employee's came out of the store to charge at us and attempt to start a fight.
Lovely. So the whole store empties into the parking lot, leaving nobody inside taking orders or keeping an eye on the food. We ended up calling the police and filing a report, and I will use that in my complaint to corporate.
Only two employees were decent. The African American manager, who tried to maintain control over the situation, and the kind Asian gentleman who actually apologized for the problems. Everyone else was part of the problem.
I get it, it's Aurora, and it's not a great area, but I've lived here for 20 years and have never had any restaurant employee try and assault me because we told her she was bad at her job.
If you can't handle working at a fast food place, you shouldn't have a job. Any employer or customer will give you criticism, but to respond with violence and racial slurs in front of a child is unacceptable.
Thanks Quay and Jrayla. You really showed how customer oriented Mcdonald's can be. I'll take my money anywhere else.
Waiting on call back from corporate, so I can contact the franchise owner.
Edited: Received a phone call from the franchise owner, who apologized and asked what could be done to rectify the situation and offered me $25 gift card to any McDonald's in the area. While I appreciated the offer, I seriously doubt I will be returning to McDonald's any time soon. Train the employees. If they do a terrible job, and are told they're doing a terrible job, there should be no violence involved. Criticism is part of life, the real world, and any job you hold. I've had clients tell me I was doing a horrible job, and I fixed what I was doing wrong. Never once did I attempt to assault someone because they told me I wasn't...
Read moreThis place has messed my order up twice. Drive through is slow, 17 minutes wait time for two iced coffees and when we got them, they had something white spilled on the outside and there was no creamer in them.
I ordered two large iced vanilla coffees with light ice. We paid then got to the food window. I was watching the guy build my order and I saw him fill the cup full of ice so I had to yell in to him to tell him that it was light ice. Then he was looking around like he didn't know what he was doing. He pumped the vanilla flavoring into the one cup then poured the coffee in. When he handed it to me, it had milk or something all dripped on the outside of the cup. I had to ask for a napkin.
Next cup, he didn't even add the vanilla flavoring. It was also coated in some white milky substance.
When we drove away, I looked in the ice and it had white stuff floating inside of it. I am usually okay with most stuff an am not a nit picker but the drink looked like it was taken out of a trash can.
I called the McDonald's over on E Iliff and told them what happened and the manager said he had a similar thing happen at this McDonald's. Long story short, the McD's on Iliff said to bring the drinks in to the counter and they would replace them. The Iliff one got it right and made them how they are supposed to be.
I gave these guys a second chance after messing up my order last time (They left out two large fries and the tomatoes off my Hot and Spicy sandwich) and they blew it. I will never go back to this McD's or recommend it to anyone. The Iliff McD's is where I will go...
