MOD Pizza — Restaurant in Aurora

Update: After posting my review below and emailing the corporate office, I was contacted by, Kim, the General Manager for the Forest Trace location. Kim was very apologetic for what had happened during my first visit and wanted to make things right. She invited me to revisit the location. I brought my family in for their first visit to MOD Pizza and was willing to pay for their meals and just expected to have my meal comped. Well, Kim was on the register during my visit and took care of everything including our pizzas, drinks, and dessert! I totally wasn't expecting that! We enjoyed our meals tremendously and now have a new place to frequent! Thanks again Kim from MOD Pizza!

First Visit/Last Visit - Where do I begin? Wanted to try MOD Pizza for the first time, so I traveled in the snow showers to visit the Forest Trace location on a Wednesday night. (Wishing I would have gone to my usual place up the road instead). Upon walking in, I wasn't welcomed, nor was I asked if this was my first visit to MOD. I figured out what I wanted and a young male employee prepared my pizza. He then placed my pizza on the middle counter where it just sat and sat until finally someone realized it was sitting there. I paid and said "for here." I then went to find a seat, which was most difficult as the floors were filthy and the tables weren't much better. I'm not sure if the place had been cleaned all day (or in awhile for that matter). After finally settling at a table, I watched in horror things that made me wish I had not already ordered and paid. A female employee was drinking a personal drink in the food prep area (she was actually the second employee during my visit drinking a personal drink). Now, I've watched enough Kitchen Nightmares to know that is a no-no. This same employee then touched the raw pizza dough trays without gloves (or without washing her hands for that matter) moving the trays to another rack. Also, the music was blaring and the employees were horsing around doing all sorts of immature things. They were tossing around a "cleaning" cloth, and a male employee was going around slapping his hands at one of the female employees. Instead of messing around, the 6-7 employees in the food prep area should have been cleaning the lobby! After all this, I went back to the cashier and said I'll have my pizza to go, instead. I just couldn't stand staying there. I took my pizza home to consume it there instead. It looked great, but was salty as heck. Wanted to take a blood pressure pill after only eating half of it. All in all, the price was great and the pizza "looked good," but the shenanigans of the employees and the saltiness of the pizza were too much to overcome my first impression of MOD Pizza...

So…. Let me start by saying that if I could, I would give 10 stars for this particular MOD Pizza. I also should note that we’ve not frequented any other MOD Pizza locations. That being said, we visited this location 2 or 3 days ago and the pizza was so good and the atmosphere and people so welcoming that we came back today! We don’t really eat pizza any more but hubby had a craving so we went and we are so glad we did! The store was clean and they are always cleaning. The lady’s was not only clean but smells like cinnamon! It’s delightful! lol Today I had to speak to a manager because they need to know how great of a job they are doing! Christian was cleaning and came up to our table to ask if we needed anything else and then I complimented his cool shirt and we had a little discussion. He was just lovely! I could go on and on even more than I already have but I think you should just pop over there if you’re looking for food. You will enjoy your visit cuz everything is just awesome, even the music!! This store was kind of a hot mess yesterday. Didn't add sauce to the Calexico and when I asked for sauce after I got it there was kind of a weird response basic blaming me and a "I didn't know if you wanted it or not" answer when I asked for it as it is no changes. Crusts were overcooked and burnt in places. Store was an absolute mess, pizza boxes everywhere in the lobby, I mean piled up and taking up a lot of lobby space and a disorganized effort to clean up in the kitchen area that was visible. Drink station was a mess. On top of all that, we ordered large drinks and were told after asking for cups (twice) that they were out of large cups after we paid for large cups. Didn't offer to remedy the upcharge. Didn't make an effort whatsoever to apologize or anything. Didn't really acknowledge us after that at all, lots of socializing happening between themselves though. I've never had an experience at MOD that was such a...
