My wife and I recently visited Pomegranate Cafe for breakfast and had an overall pleasant experience. While there were a few areas that could be improved, the food ultimately won us over.
Upon arriving at around 11 in the morning, we were initially unsure if breakfast was still being served, as there was no specified time mentioned on the menu. Additionally, the cafe is known for its long wait times on Sundays. I found the waiting system a bit inconvenient, with patrons having to wait inside the restaurant and be seated as their names were called. It would be more efficient if they implemented a text message system to notify customers when their table is ready, allowing them to wait comfortably in their cars.
Furthermore, the staff at the entrance seemed to display a hint of attitude, which didn't set the best first impression. However, after approximately 30 minutes, we were finally seated and ready to order.
We started with a regular coffee, which unfortunately didn't meet our expectations. However, the fresh orange juice was a refreshing and enjoyable choice.
For our main dishes, we opted for the Skirt Steak Eggs Benedict topped with caramelized onions, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce, as well as the Mediterranean Skillet with gyro meat. At first glance, the presentation of the food was average, but upon tasting it, we were blown away by the flavors. The steak in my wife's dish was cooked to perfection and had an incredible taste. The gyro meat in the Mediterranean Skillet was also flavorful and satisfying. In addition, I decided to try the special Boston Creme Pancake topped with a rich chocolate ganache, and it proved to be a delightful treat.
Overall, Pomegranate Cafe is a great place for breakfast, despite a few shortcomings. The food surpassed our initial expectations, and we learned not to judge a book by its cover. However, the restaurant could benefit from improving their staff's demeanor and finding a more efficient method for seating guests. With better management in these areas, Pomegranate Cafe could easily become a top-notch...
Read moreWhen I came in I was warmly greeted by the host who sat me immediately in a booth as requested. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and I was excited to try the new location. (We just moved to Aurora in May.) After being seated I was welcomed by my server, Emily, who brought me my coffee right away and the host/busser brought me a glass of ice water. I loved that the coffee was served in a personal kettle so that I could refill as needed. Often times when I order decaf coffee it tastes old or burnt as not many opt for this, however this coffee was fresh and warm. I also loved that there was a full bowl on, not just my table, but all the tables, of flavored creamers to choose from! Often times I need to ask for more or even flavored creamers in general. This was definitely a plus!
Emily saw I was ready to order and was very helpful as there was some things I wanted to change to my order. She was able to make the changes with ease and even clarified to make sure she got it correct. I ordered the Popeye Skillet sub mushrooms instead of tomatoes and added avocado. It was delicious! Compliments to the chef! The bacon in the skillet was crispy and the mushrooms tasted fresh. Often times, restaurants load up with potatoes, and less of the “good stuff”, but this skillet had a good balance of potatoes AND tons of the yummy ingredients—like the spinach, bacon, mushrooms, and avocado!
As I looked around I saw tables being cleared and cleaned both as customers were there and immediately after customers left. This made for a wonderful experience and helps the atmosphere feel clean and welcoming. I also noticed the busser/host and wait staff stocking up the tables with more jelly’s(loved that there was plenty of each or the flavors to choose from), creamers(same here), hot sauce etc so that it was ready for the next guest.
Overall I had an absolutely AMAZING experience here and will definitely be back soon!
Thank you Pomegranate Restaurant & Cafe, I look forward to dining with...
Read moreStaff was friendly upon entering and wait time for a table was quite short for a Saturday, but many tables still had dirty dishes. We were seated at a booth right by the kitchen with a very dirty table. Our menus were placed on the dirty table and I signaled a young male worker clearing tables nearby to please wipe it down. We were greeted and asked for drinks to start. Once our water and juices came we ordered. I had asked for and paid extra for a veggie omelet with egg whites, no cheese and no butter, a cup of fruit and 2 pancakes. My son ordered the pomegranate waffle (FYI-Order those). Our food came after 40 minutes of waiting. Not sure what the issue was in their kitchen. Waitress told us she was sorry for no food provisions? What??? I cook alot at home, so my senses are hightened when someone presents eggs with yolks, butter or cheese and a yellow color. I brought this to her attention when I received my yellow omelete since I had mentioned I have heart disease and would be glad to pay the extra for egg whites used in place of whole eggs. She took my plate back and my plate returned in less than 2 minutes with the same omellete as before. At times, it is hard to find a healthy breakfast spot offering healthy choices. I have a genetic heart disease and would love to eat out on the weekend with the rest of you. Might try those pomegranite cakes next time. Management, please train your servers to act in honesty because admitting the mistake and taking the time to correct it is the best road to take. Negative reviews can impact your business and they are also a tool for...
