We just walked out of this location after demanding a full refund.
This was our first visit. After dropping nearly $80 on just 2 pizzas, 5 drinks and game credits (WTH), we walked towards the main stage and noticed tables that were reserved for birthday parties.
We looked for any additional reserved signage and found a table that had no signage and was open.
We sat for approx 20 - 30 minutes until our pizzas were brought to our table. After we had begun eating we were approached by an employee who felt he needed to dish quite a bit of attitude as he asked us if we were apart of a birthday party. We stayed that we were not and had just found an open table. He then told us we would need to relocate because the area we were in was reserved for birthday parties. Due to his condescending tone, we asked to please be shown where the reserved signage was. He informed us that there was no signage, but this entire area is only for birthday parties. At that point, my husband asked him again where the signage is showing people that this area was ONLY for birthday parties. At that point, he cut my husband’s sentence off and waved his hands at us and said, “You know what, I’ll go make a sign!” and walked away.
At that point I approached another employ and asked her for the manager. I informed the manager what had just taken place and asked if there would be a birthday party coming soon where we were sitting. She stated there was no birthday party until later. I asked if we could please sit and finish eating. Her reply was that we needed to move. I asked her to please show me signage that stated the entire area in front of the stage was off limits. Her reply was that they use to put signs up but got in trouble for doing that so they stopped. I again asked if we could please finish our meal versus moving 3 toddlers, food and drinks. She again said we had to move. At that point I informed her she would be giving us a full refund and we left.
Had we been approached in a more professional manner, we would have moved. The best customer service oriented response to us would have been to explain that the area was reserved nicely and possibly even offer to help us move out food and drinks. I would also highly suggest that they hang signs stating that the entire area around the stage is reserved. If it isn’t however, they should try to enforce something that isn’t in their policy just so they can keep tables clean for birthday parties later in the day.
We visited Gattitown immediately after. Not only did we spend only $40 for a buffet that includes salad and drinks, we also received the same...
Read moreI had my twin daughter's birthday there on Saturday as this was her 1st birthday since her twin sister passed away from a terminal neurological disorder last year. I met the party host at the beginning and then she was no where to be found almost the whole 2 hours of the party. Instead her, a group of the employees, including the manager Sigsda were seen multiple times just standing together, talking, laughing, and paying no attention to the party guests. My brother and his girlfriend waited over an hour and 15 minites for one supreme pizza which they finally canceled but were told for the longest couldn't get their money back when they paid at the front. My sister and daughter's Godmother waited over an hour and a half for the appetizer they ordered till they canceled their order as well and were told for the longest no refund. The salads that my guests got and paid for on their own were no good. The products for the salad bar were either frozen or had a very funny taste. One of the employees almost tripped on my sister's oxygen hose which she uses because of heart issues and didn't even apologize. Instead she and other staffed laughed about it and then started to say really ugly things about my sister and her being on oxygen probably due to her weight when in reality she is on a heart transplant list due to being in the final stage of heart failure. That was completely out of line and never should of been said. They continued to talk about other guests as well loud enough to were my guests could heart them. My daughter's godmother went up to the manager Sigsda to ask for the corporate information to call to complain and Sigsda told her you can go find it yourself. She was totally unprofessional, the customer service was a nightmare, and at this point I don't see myself ever going to another Chuck E Cheese again. The whole staff cared less about the kids, the guests, doing their job, had the worst attitudes, and customer service I have ever experienced in my life. When I first got there, finally met my party host, she told me to tell her how many kids, and she would adjust the count. However, at the end I was told she could only adjust two off not three is what her manager said. I am so mad / upset about the experience me, my daughter, and all my guests had there that I want to talk to someone higher up than that location. There is no excuse for the way that my daughters part was handled from the beginning to the end and I wish I never would of taken the advice to have there had I known how they treat their customers. I would give them 0 stars if there was...
Read moreDear South Austin CEC Location,
I'd actually give y'all no stars if possible. As someone who has worked at CEC for 10 years in the past, this place really sucks now. We used to come here almost once a week... then the service was getting worse so we stopped for a while... Today my son asked if we could go.... my husband and I cringed... but we went and this is what happened:
Not clean. In the 1 1/2 hours we were there, Chuck E. Never came out or did a road show. Only came out for birthday parties and went straight back in. Unfriendly and unknowledgable staff. Stop talking and get to work, flirt with your co-workers elsewhere or off the clock in the break room not in front of guest. Stock the freaking merch counter. How hard can that be?? You don't have tattoos??? Go get some out of the merch closet!!!! Don't tell me yall need to stock up, just do it!!!! Don't make guest wanting to purchase prizes TAKE THE PRIZES themselves to the register line and wait another 10 minutes to check out. At this point every parent is ready to go, children included and you're making them wait again. Ughhhh come on!!! Manager or team leader: if you see a line at cash stop icing by the salad bar that has plenty of ice all around and hop on a register with money in it... don't just say "I can only take card" when you finally realize the line is curving around kid check and blocking it. Don't lie to guest telling them they can't use tickets for money items. If I purchase a balloon, at least go check and make sure you have helium before charging me. (I asked 2 people before purchasing to get it blown up) Why don't you have helium? Tell your cheap GM to get his butt to Walmart and get some dang helium tanks. This is a birthday place ORDER HELIUM!!! When issuing me a refund for my balloon that you couldn't blow up, make sure you actually DO THE REFUND. Dont just hand me a dollar out of the register and say "here you go sorry". This is called stealing because I should have recieved a refund receipt and my tax back. Get your act together Chuck E. Cheese, there is a reason "guests" are going elsewhere... this stores service just sucks.
Yours truly, An EX CEC manager and guest
P.S. Yes I am emailing the CEC corporate office with...
