I work nearby and started coming to this location regularly a couple of months ago. Thereās an employee named Omar who has always made my visits uncomfortable. He never looks me in the eye, purposely turns his head away, and completely ignores me when I say āthank youā ā even though Iāve always been respectful and polite. It felt intentional and disrespectful, but I let it slide for weeks.
Then one day, after the same treatment again, I asked him ā calmly ā āHey, how come you never look me in the eyes? Do you not like me or something?ā Instead of answering, he took the food I had just paid for, removed it from the counter, put it in the back, and told me to leave. I was shocked. I said, āGive me my food, I just paid for that,ā and asked, āWhatās the problem, man? Why do you hate me? Are you jealous or something?ā
Out of nowhere, Omar smacked me in the face.
I was stunned. I didnāt hit him back ā not because I couldnāt, but because Iām a grown adult with responsibilities. I was on the clock during my work break, and I have a lot to lose. Meanwhile, he clearly didnāt care about consequences. I just wanted to get my food and move on with my day ā instead, I was assaulted by someone working behind the counter.
I came back inside when I saw that a manager was present (a short Hispanic woman, possibly named Carla) and calmly told her what had just happened ā that her employee had just slapped me in the face. She didnāt ask questions, didnāt express concern, didnāt even acknowledge what I said. She just kept repeating, loudly and dismissively, āSir, you need to leave.ā
I was treated like the problem, even though I was the one who got assaulted. Iāve avoided coming back because I donāt want to escalate the situation further, but I really liked stopping here. I still want to come back ā but not while Omar is working there, and not while management enables this kind of behavior.
If this isnāt handled, theyāve lost my business permanently. And Iām currently in the process of contacting corporate and considering filing a police report for assault. People should feel safe and respected when they come into a store ā not smacked in the face and told to leave like their safety...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTerrible staff. I ordered a chicken fried steak, 3 rolls and a sprite. Asked for brown gravy on top. Food was a 3 piece strip with white gravy and the rolls. I decided to drive the 20 minutes back to the store and just get a refund since by the time I would get there it would be near their closing time. The Latina woman at the window was super confrontational from the jump. Like dude, it's not that serious. She swore I had said 3 peice even after admitting that she heard me say chicken fried steak #6. Then said I said I'd have 3 orders (I said I'd have 2 separate orders) When I told her no, I didn't, she just cut me off and said I'm not going to argue with you. So I guess it's my fault she can't double task, listen and put in an order. I never gave her attitude, and this is what I was met with. A miserable disposition and incompetence. She huffed that if I wanted a refund I'd have to give them back the meal. Duh, had she not just started bluthering about how it had been an order she took an hour prior (again I live 20 mins away round trip its 40 mins plus i Had to stop for gas to get back) and that other word vomit she spat I would've just given her the box of food I never asked for. I said ty and she just kinda stared at me when she gave me my money back. Seriously. Just say ty back. People like her are why so many companies switch to self check out/ self order and why so many people just don't want to deal with staff. Do better and teach your staff the term customer service. And keep the miserable ones out of the window, no one should have to deal with whatever low that girl was on. No worries, i...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love fried chicken and KFC Original is still my favorite. I haven't been to a Church's in quite some time but decided to try this one today, as I was right near it.
It's a small store that probably mostly does take out. I decided to sit and eat-in. The gentleman, Charles, who took my order was a very pleasant surprise. I had a few questions and he was friendly, helpful and professional. He got my order going and then offered me sweetener and lemon juice for my unsweetened iced tea. Instead of giving my a huge handful of each to waste, he asked how many of each I wanted.
My order came up very quickly and I sat to enjoy it. Again, Church's isn't my favorite fried chicken and it wasn't spectacular, but it was hot and fresh. The Iced Tea, Cole Slaw and Biscuit were all fresh too (the Cole Slaw was darn good).
As I had my meal I looked around. Although small, this was a pretty clean and tidy restaurant, which is not usually the case at places like this.
Soon Charles walked by and asked me if everything was OK. You could tell he was interested and ernest, not just going through the motions.
I love to see people who take pride in doing their jobs well. Charles was one such person and he made a visit to a fast food restaurant much more enjoyable that one would expect. I wish this was something that was the norm these days, sadly it's...
