A Delightful Catering Experience with Curry in Hurry for Our Special Event! Last month, for our son's Raas Garba Sangeet Sandhya, we decided to cater from Curry in Hurry, an Indian vegetarian restaurant in Austin, and what a fabulous decision that turned out to be! Owned by Binta Patel, Curry in Hurry not only promises quality food but delivers an exceptional service that caters perfectly to specific culinary needs. From the very beginning, Binta was a pleasure to work with. She listened patiently to our desire to recreate a Gujarati street food ambiance for our event, which was primarily attended by guests who cherish Gujarati cuisine. The professionalism and attentiveness of Binta, her husband Nirav and entire Curry in Hurry team were evident throughout our interaction. Food & Presentation: The menu was a hit! Here’s what stood out: - Soups: Sweet Corn and the Hot and Sour Soups were yummy. - Live Counters: The Pani Puri and Papdi Chaat counters were not just interactive but also served mouthwatering snacks that were true to the taste of Gujarat. - Dinner Delights: The Pav Bhaji was notably delicious with perfectly square, crispy pavs, alongside sumptuous Dabeli, and Chole served with triangle Paratha. - Desserts: The traditional favorites, Jalebi and Gulab Jamun, were prepared to perfection, ending our meal on a delightfully sweet note. Post the performances, the availability of Khichu, authentic Gujarati Chai, and South Indian snacks really showcased their flexibility and commitment to providing a comprehensive culinary experience. Special Dietary Accommodations: A notable mention is how well they catered to our Jain community members, adapting the menu to exclude potatoes, onions, and garlic without compromising on taste. Conclusion: All in all, Curry in Hurry went above and beyond to ensure our event was a success. The food was not only delicious and true to its roots but was also presented in an appealing manner that enhanced our experience. We are regular customers at their restaurant location and this catering experience has only deepened our appreciation of their dedication to quality and service. I highly recommend Binta Patel's Curry in Hurry for any event catering or even a simple meal out. They truly embody the flavors of India!

I really don't like this place. I've come here a few times over the last few years because it's literally 3 min from where I work. It's always just been just ok. But now, they've taken their service and their food to a whole new low. - no one acknowledged my presence. Not a hi or anything. - I knew to order at the tablet, so I did. Cheese dosa, mango Lassi, and some dessert. After I pay, THEN it says it'll be 20 to 30 friggin minutes. I thought this was curry in a hurry?! - after 30 minutes, I started walking around trying to find eye contact with someone. Someone came out of the back on her phone and did something by the cashier. Still no hi or anything. - when I realized she was going to just ignore me as she walked back towards the back, I went ahead and did the excuse me, how long will it be? She said "soon" - so I said, then can I have a refund because I didn't know it would take this long and I can't wait around any longer. "5 min" all of a sudden. - she comes out with my food within 5 min. Then directs me to the refrigerator to get my own mango Lassi out. You mean to tell me that you've seen me here for over half an hour, and don't even think to give me my mango Lassi when it was right there?! I've already paid. I've already TIPPED! ugh this is what's wrong with tip culture. Don't get me started. - the food is bland. The dosa tastes burnt but it's also soggy. It's likely that their heating element is dirty with old burnt food. The only thing decent is the mago lassi, and i had to get that myself. I am never coming here again. You shouldn't either. This place needs to go.

I have become conscious of leaving negative reviews, as their effect could be detrimental to jobs. So apologies in advance. I HATED this place and will never go back again. I'm ready to look past the decor as I've eaten better food in bad looking places (like oak tree in edison n)j, but at THIS place every single thing was horrible tasting, no flavor. We ate on a day when I was craving good Indian food so it made me feel worse. We tried the punjabi thaali - How can u get the basic daal wrong? Chapati, wrong! We tried the chole bhatura, no taste in the chana, oiliest bhaturas! we tried the samosa chaat. I have eaten the "curry in a hurry" in New York, which is on a different level, and way better tasting food. Oh btw this is veg only (fyi) I saw some non Indian customers walk around picking dirty dishes from tables so they could sit and eat. And I just realized i cannot stand the sight if styrofoam plates and cups. I relied on the other 4 star reviews, which should actually be a 1 star. Oh god, please save this place.

Why does this place has less than 4 stars? Especially in Austin where good Indian Vegetarian food is a scarcity. Today I had their Punjabi Thali. Just so damn good. They are my last choice and you know why because I know what they deliver and I always thrive to try new places. I searched searched drove for an hour or two but couldn’t find a place that can offer me a better indian vegetarian food. Desilicious is the close second. I know what these two provide and they are best in what they do. Wanted to try something else but zlitch nothing.

I decided to go this place as this is closer to me than Desilicious and man did I make right choice in not going to Other places. I ordered their Punjabi Thali. I had to wait a good 15 minutes but once I got it damn they are tasteful.

Chole was amazing. Something that is very easy to cook somehow all the Indian restaurants mess up. They didn’t. It was so damn good. Paneer Butter Masala can also be so dull but they added a twist by adding veggies and taste was different than what you see in any other Thali or buffet. Aloo Sabji was okay. Probably not my preference. Dal Makhani was just so awesome. Achar is what it is you cannot mess that up and they didn’t. The Chass was brilliant. Loved it. Rice was well cooked. Gulab Jamun was just right. Fryums were great. Last but not least 3 chapatis were just so damn soft and tasteful.

Great job guys. This is my fourth time here and not even once was I disappointed. Really not sure why they have low ratings I hope my review helps. I remember having their chaat in one of my previous visits and it was so good as well.

Don’t think too much about this place. If you like North Indian food you are in...
